Sounds like running the Bix 7 with 15,000 others and jogging in place for several minutes before you even get to the start line. Start too far back and you are with dudes wearing tennis shoes and ear buds to listen to music during a race and realize this is a slow group. Go too far up and you look around and see guys with low bib numbers and bright colored race flats and realize you don't belong there either.
..........do people not listen to music while running?

Ran a 5k where I got pinned in by a herd running a 35 min clip. Had to fight out to run with my friend. After a half mile with him, he finished in 17:30, I told him to take off and I finished at 22 or so. Had another easy course where I was faster than another friend who gassed with a half mile left. He was so slow I literally sprinted the last 6 blocks and finished around 24.
I've used it a couple of times...both times when someone was posting personal real life info about other posters. IMO, that's totally out of line.
No, men run behind the women and check them out, especially if they are oblivious with ear buds in.

Yeah I probably walked the first quarter mile because it was so crowded.

Had to get out of there for awhile. Someone was reporting EVERYBODY. I'm just laying low over here.
