Scary picture.

The suburbs and "nice" areas like Walker/Loring just present the illusion of safety.

Not a gloom and doom guy but this stuff is getting nuts. Not so sure this one is going to turn out to be just road rage. Waiting for the other shoe to drop once they catch the guys but I am betting it's unfortunately related to the areas underlying racial tensions. With the year, make, model and color of the car I expect they will find these guys.

Not sure if this is real, but if it is :wideeyed:

Well, Doc came back and said everything is fine and that the echocardiogram exaggerated the size of a ventricle which was their initial cause for concern :)

Are Hopkins and Eden Prairie still good, or do I need to bring some armor with me this summer?

Just drive around there with a big upscale SUV to fit in....the bigger and more expensive the better. Edina has the entitled white privilege country club reputation but it actually resides in Eden Prairie these days. It's the new school Edina. And for god's sake speak English while in EP and you better not do it with an accent either. I kinda hate EP.
Damn it. My "filter" must be off. I am posting exactly what I think.

So, don't lace up your boat shoes too tight and you're good to go?

Glad everything is cool.

I'm with you on the hating EP thing. I think most of MN is. It doesn't happen often that the neutral fan will root for Wayzata (e.g. boys state hockey championship) against another school.

In regards to cutting down large trees. We had a huge elm tree in our yard that eventually succumbed to Dutch Elm disease. My dad couldn't find anyone to cut it down. They all claimed it would be too difficult where it was at.

So like my dad would do, he cut a bunch of 2x4s and started nailing them into the tree as a ladder. He then took a handsaw and started cutting branches off starting way up there.
Eventually they came home one day and the dairy farmer and a couple of his brothers were in the front yard finishing off the job. He had a wood stove and furnace so they loaded all the wood up and took it home.

don't let DH see these, he wants a pet bear.

They have videos of Finnegan wrestling with that stuffed bear - and losing! He's 2 months old, orphaned. He's only in the cage until he's big enough to lap formula/eat soft solids...then he'll graduate to a pen with logs & things to climb on. Once he proves he is capable of climbing up AND down, and is weaned from formula, he'll go in an outdoor enclosure with other cubs until he's big enough to survive on his own.

This rescue works very hard to minimize human contact with the cubs to help them stay wild. They were really stressed financially in the 2015 birth year because they had around 36 cubs to care for at the center. 24 of them are still at the center...they arrived in the fall and were not big enough to release before hibernation season. Born in late January, they should be around 70-80 lbs by November. They were receiving cubs that were less than 15 lbs each from September to December, and even a couple in January. It was a really hard season for the foods that bears eat in 2015. Amazingly, they only lost three of the cubs that were brought in...despite the desperate conditions some were in when they arrived.

Finnegan is the first 2016 bear. No doubt there will be more. :(
