I've always had the feeling that Georges would be someone who would make a lot of money playing basketball overseas. However, there is some noise within the local media that he may get drafted. First Chris Williams said on a podcast a few months ago that he's heard that Larry Bird has interest in Niang. Now, Travis Hines has tweeted this.

Reported on a rather large Niang story the last few days. In doing so, I'm convinced his destiny is to be drafted by the Spurs in the 2nd RD

I really hope Georges makes an NBA roster next year. It would be really cool to see that

I don't understand the NBA, but I think that Georges could be good in the NBA.

If he ended up with the Spurs that would be the best news ever. Great organization. Amazing coach. A team that I like.

Defense really isn't a focus in the NBA anymore. An allstar team just about scored 200 points last month.
This post tells me you are totally clueless. What does a meaningless All-star game have to do with anything? I laugh when people say defense isn't played in the NBA. Georges won't make it on that reason alone.

Could see him putting up huge numbers in the D-League but don't see how he doesn't get eaten up in pick and rolls in the NBA. Teams would go at him like they do McDermott on the Bulls.

A fair amount of people on this board use McDermott as to why they think Niang will be successful in the NBA.

I am assuming because it is one of the NBA players they can name.

McDermott is an elite shooter which Georges is not, he's also historically bad at everything else. He's putting up all time low rebound, assist, block and steal rates. Niang is a much better passer, but similarly flawed defensively.

McDermott is even quite a bit more athletic than Niang. He had solid #'s at the combine, and he is still a liability out there defensively

He is immensely talented on the offensive end. He could certainly fill a situational role for someone.

In college, remains to be seen if that translates to the NBA. And an average offensive player who can't defend won't stick around long.
