CW back and forth with Jon Miller on twitter last night.....

I think it's the "ain't played in that gym" tone. If you've ever heard Miller's voice, you can hear the arrogance. I'm not sure if he's referring to a potential Iowa-ISU matchup in the NCAAs or speaking more generally. If he's speaking generally, he's implying Iowa State won't have postseason success because they can't beat anyone away from Hilton, and that's a "good thing."

Or it's just a Hawkeye blowhard that didn't really think about what he was typing. His main goal was to serve up a zinger for his loyal following of low-life Hayden worshipers.

While CW would be better off not even engaging Miller, I didn't understand Miller's quick jump to "little brother." If that's what Miller wanted to say, he should have just typed it in the original tweet.

1. Jon Miller is an educated and well-spoken version of a tavern hawk. Grew up in 80's and his Dad liked to watch Hayden and Tom Davis games in the bar (that might be partial BS but that doesn't stop him.) He grew up in an era where ISU did a poor job of developing and promoting its Athletic Department. So he thinks that is "normal." He also obviously likes to stir the pot to create attention to support his website.

2. Little Brother may have been partially true in past. U of I had higher enrollment and more of a state wide brand because of athletic success and effective promotion and marketing. That advantage has been largely mitigated at this point. We have a great brand, our enrollment growth is superior to U of I.

Plain and simple. The "Little Brother" comeback has become a coping mechanism for butt hurt hawk fans who realize that the brand of Iowa State University (both athletically and academically) is growing exponentially faster than that of the University of Iowa. Even amid their extreme athletic success. I’d have to find a way to rationalize it in my mind if I were them too.

If it only helped. Our atmosphere, fan following, hype, etc. doesn't seem to be much of a factor for the blue chippers.

Maybe someone should ask Diallo how it felt to play in Hilton with that atmosphere, fan following and hype. Wonder what he thought of that game experience given how he almost ended up at ISU and the atmosphere was probably one of the pitches he got for recruiting.

It would be fascinating to hear an interview with him a few years after he goes to the NBA . . . as he reflects on the process, his decision, and regrets.

Those 4 minutes were exciting I'm sure. I'm guessing playing time is his biggest regret right now, being at KU isn't helping him get to the NBA at all right now.

Id laugh at watching Iowa in the big 12 for basketball.

HELL, football too!

Would love to see CF visit information vs HokNation visit info.

Suspect CF beats Miller's lame site by 10 fold.

Here are the current stats comparing the 2.

It might be if we can sustain this kind of media presence over a long period of time. It isn't just the atmosphere; it is ESPN talking continually about the atmosphere.

Aren't Chris and Jon friends? I'm sure Chris appreciates coming here and seeing people call one of his buddies all kinds of bleeped out names because they traded a few barbs like I do with my Hawkeye friends. Holy crap people, calm down.

Welcome to the new world. Where everyone is entitled to everyone else's dirty laundry and apparently we like to make that stuff a public spectacle too. Facebook ruined society forever.

They are friends, and I can say both are decent individuals, having worked for and/or with both. Grow up.

I'm sure he is a decent individual but he goes out of his way to troll ISU fans in a weird way plus his winky faces on Twitter creep me out. I don't even follow him but he always seems to get retweeted in my timeline when he takes shots at ISU

I started posting here partly because the ISU fan base basically only has one decent option. It seems like iowa has ten sites.
