How many times are we going to re-brand? It seems we've been thru this multiple times, with no difference in the play on the field.

It will get us buying more stuff; however, more $$$$ for the athletic dept.

The car dealer says he'll only sell us a Geo Metro but we get to pick the paint color and options. Sure the car sucks buy why not make it at least loo great?

We're not rebranding. Very few people are asking to change the standard uniform. They are just looking for fun alternates.

The year is 2016. Tons of teams are having fun with alternate uniforms. Even teams who have "Established Brands" based on Old School uniforms have branched out and done alternates.

It's not meant to drastically effect the play on the field. It's to create buzz. It creates excitement for fans and points of interest for the media.

If just ONE prized recruit thinks a future alternate uniform is cool and considers ISU because of it, then it's worth it.

No rebrand. The I-STATE logo isn't going anywhere. It will remain a permanent fixture on the 50 yard line. I'd like to see it outlined by the state of Iowa.

I'd like this too, plus I know this is small detail but I'd love it, if we put the outline of the state on the back of our helmets with the star of where Ames is at. Like this:

So ****** they beat us to it. I've yearned to see the state outline used in some capacity for years. It'd be nice to inform the rest of the nation which flyover state they're losing to.

The state outline thing is over. Nothing cool or unique about it anymore. They should use a different uniform, more crazy than the last, for every game. Our football team has no uniform tradition. Metallic gold, mirror gold, blackout, white helmets, at least we'll look good doing it.

Keeping the helmetdesign with like a very faint state of Iowa outline around it, or the winds of a Cyclone would be cool. I don't know what it actually would look like, but looks cool in my head.

EDIT-
Like how the TCU/Oregon's endzones were in their bowl game, just Iowa States version and on our helmet.

Seems to me that we have an outstanding Fashion Design department. Let's put them to work co I got up with some that reflects tradition, change and excitement. Most things pictured are pretty boring and look like they could have been worn 5, 10 or even 20 years ago. Maybe a all over mottled Cardinal look. No yellow helmets. Ugh!

Nobody calls us I-State. Nobody. It has always been ISU. I don't mind the logo but it just doesn't hit the Mark. And the red logo on red helmet idea is for the birds.

If you take the "Iowa State" off the top of the funnel, I say it ain't Criner. It's something new.

People hated the white helmets at first because they looked like crap in the original rendition. Once we saw the photo from the equipment room, everyone freaked out. They would look great with all white uniforms.

I know our athletic department doesn't really have the money to throw around, but at this point our identity should be multiple looks anyways because we aren't exactly a recognized name brand in football. I wish we could mix it up as much as other schools do. Not as crazy as Oregon, but mix it up every few weeks. Get the old school walking Cy on the helmets on occasion. Jack Trice throwbacks. Hell- bird in a blender to commemorate the 2000 Insight Bowl. Etc.

No, the reason why we (or at least why I) hated the white helmet at first was because the uniforms presented to us when they released the helmet was gold pants/cardinal jersey/white helmet. That is a ridiculously bad color combination, especially when the uniforms had virtually no white in them. Then a few years later they introduced white pants as a uniform option (and in fact it's pretty much a road staple now). With white pants the white helmet actually makes sense, especially when the helmet looks as good as it does.

We're actually in agreement, yo. Thanks for going into detail for me.
