What about a set of "Trice stripes" on the back of the helmet, or even the front?

I like this idea, but maybe not on that particular uniform set. It might replicate the stripes too much when put on the helmet and the rest of the uniform.

If the stripes were left off either the jersey or pants, then I could see putting the stripes on the helmet. My preference would be coming off the back of the helmet, up over the top and toward the front, should they even choose to go on the helmet.

I agree. You wouldn't want Trice stripes on both the helmet and the jersey. I hope someone with photoshop skills can create a Trice Stripes helmet.

We need to let the staff know how much better the true cardinal and gold looks. We need to get the color right on any new re-design!! Some of the other designs might look as good (as the ones from amestoplease, probably not, but maybe), if the colors are right.

Any of this gold looks good, IMO, and far better color than what we currently have:

ISU had these true Cyclone colors, for at least 20 years, from 1947-1967.

The true 2008 mock-up of what we should have had, but somehow got 'yellowized', and we didn't get. Gold pretty close...

This Cardinal and Gold is spot on, IMO! I also like like the slightly more yellow (but still gold, gloss helmet).

This is a question just because I'm ignorant and curious. For teams that declare "gold" as one of their colors (us and Iowa as far as I know) is that generally considered the yellow color that we have? As a follow-up, what color do Notre Dame, Navy, Pitt, etc. say that they use? Is it "old gold" or do they claim it to be "gold" as well.

Yes, the yellow color is what is considered our gold for athletic marks...but that has not been represented well in our uniform execution. ND and Navy claim 'gold' as well.

Are some people color blind here? There's a big difference between Notre Dame gold and what we had for the 2007 throwbacks. I'm all for a darker, less mustard-y hue, but don't care for "true" gold like:

Amestoplease, there are a lot of requests for your services here, but do you think you could do one of your favorite designs, in this mock-up, then change the colors only, to our current red/yellow (which I think we need to move away from, especially the yellow; mostly the yellow), and compare them side by side? We need to let the staff know how much better the true cardinal and gold looks. We need to get the color right on any new re-design!! I personally love this mock-up pic and the many you have done for us w/ various tweaks. Some of the other designs might look as good (probably not, but maybe), if the colors are right. What is your favorite so far? Keep up the good work! We'll try to be patient. (And ignore the comments that are sure to come, about the '80's (I think) *ISU logo on the lid here. I know you are just doing that for fun, because you can, haha).

im all about helping people out and taking advantage of the fact that i have more than microsoft paint to create some visual material about something that im very passionate about. that being said, its hard to scroll through a billion comments in multiple threads and try to justify re-mocking up every small change that every person requests, especially when half of them are horrible. ill do what i can but forgive me if i dont get to things as fast as t-noah who apparently never sleeps or eats or loses an internet connection. even if he did, i would expect to look up to the sky and see at least 6 new posts via bat signal-esque light beams. love the enthusiasm, hope it gets this all noticed by the right people and stubbornness can be a thing of the past.

The I-State logo will be on the helmet. I highly doubt JP would rebrand then not use it.

As for the Trice stripes on the jersey but not on the pants. I'd say for continuity and flow if you put the Trice stripes on the jersey they should be on the pants too.

- I-State logo on helmet (always, for branding)
- gold instead of yellow

Those three things would make us look completely different and much better.

Trice stripes would use the small tradition is football has and gold instead of yellow would help with actually matching our school colors.

Glorious. I don't care about it being called ketchup and mustard stripes, but having the same pattern and colors on helmet, jersey and pants all look sharp imo.

I want to see:
--a picture of t-noah in his cyclone uniform war room...Chinese take-out boxes and red bull cans strewn all about the floor and stacked on the desk, muttering to himself about shades of gold, five laptops blazing.

Also, without amestoplease this place would mostly be a gallery of embarrassing MS paint renderings, so thanks!

Last idea, feel free to ignore. Amestoplease, would you consider putting all the mockups in a folder and uploading to a gallery (google photos, flikr, etc) so can just be shared with a link?

Then people can just peruse at their leisure? Maybe if they were numbered there could be a nice poll.
