I think CG and I should keep bumping the volleyball thread to the top of CF just to **** everybody off this afternoon.

I'm not a CPR apologist. I said I completely lost faith in the staff after the Toledo game. It slightly changed after he fired Mangino, but not enough to make a difference. I felt it was time for him to go. But, that said, there's a lot of idiots on the football board celebrating this Cyclone losing his job like we just killed Bin Laden. Lots of dancing on his grave over there, and I find that sad. Man was a Cyclone through and through, no different than McCarney. The last few years sucked, but he's done a lot for this program. It saddens me to see people so giddy and celebrating over someone getting fired.

Also, it's weird with one game left. Don't know why it couldn't have waited until the end of the season at this point.

I get that because I didn't dislike the guy, although never liked him much either, and too much giddy seems to be almost celebrating the failure of the program. I would much rather have won the last two games. But still don't feel sorry for him. Posted elsewhere that he had an opportunity most don't get and he failed and still comes out a millionaire. It's not like his life is ruined or he will not be able to support his family and will lose his house (seen that happen a few times to my neighbors).

Haha, Nickels woke up in the middle of the night and texted me that she was sad she missed the show. I said "yeah, I think her husband is going to be dealing with a puking and hungover Cowgirl".

I don't feel sorry for him. I just find it disgusting for people to actually celebrate someone losing their job. When I have to fire someone, I don't throw a party afterward.

Get a jump on the hiring process. Granted, it's only one week, but we got a jump on the people that actually do wait until the end of the season. There's gonna be a lot of openings, we're gonna have to fight to get a good one.

Poop. Thanksgiving may be questionable. Just got a text from niece who was hosting and Little Man #2 was up all night puking. Waiting to see how sick he is and if the whole household gets sick.

He is like 4 so he was not slamming Fireballs or whatnot like our girl CG.

We have ours on Saturday. Come join us! :)

It's not all about money. It's about being told you're no longer good enough a job you love doing at a place you love doing it.
Yeah, a nice and loyal guy who just couldn't get the job done got fired. No reason to treat his firing like the death of bin laden. That just shows a terrible lack of class and perspective to me

I have little actual deep seeded faith in humanity. Had friends, who became ex-friends, whose Halloween Party in 2002 became a celebration of the death of Senator Paul Wellstone who had just been killed in a plane accident. And I don't mean celebrating his life, I mean toasting that the guy they felt was too liberal was dead. Didn't even matter to them that his wife and daughter were also killed. So a few people celebrating a firing doesn't surprise me.

I just got home from church and opened up facebook and saw the announcement. I'm very sad. I really liked the guy, I wanted so very badly for him to succeed; I thought his local passion would be able to overcome recruiting competition. He has been able to fire up less-skilled players to play beyond their talents on more than one occasion, but has been unable to do it consistently. I understand the need to remove him, but I take no joy in it. For the record, I felt the same way about McCarney.
