Random Thoughts V

In the spirit of KC’s morning: Stopped at the light this morning two blocks from my house. Big SUV in front of me turns right on red. I pull forward but cannot really see because of big damn SUV in the left lane (I am in little low car and am totally blocked). Kinda dangerous to try and turn right into 60 mph morning rush traffic if you can’t see left. *** hole behind me goes crazy with his horn. I give him a shrugging WTF gesture, not the bird. Finally get to turn right and he races down to the next light and pulls up next to me and is just glaring at me. I think about rolling window down as telling him to **** off but think better of it.
Light changes and he takes off like crazy in his Prius. :twitcy:

Probably to be continued since he likely is one of my neighbors.

How do these movies keep getting made? I've heard of about two of them on this new releases list from Redbox. Who watches this crap?

With the Fast & Furious shift into more heist style films, they've really only improved.
 
Second day in a row I am told to drive to another facility and pick something up. When I arrive it is not ready. Considering walking by Elvis lady's desk to get a better count of how many Elvis pictures she has.

Hate the big beasts that DON'T UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF THE STOP LINE. I can't see around them, and they're turning left or going straight, and they're a half-body length over the STOP line. Can't take my free right if I can't see around the nose of their gorram vehicle!
 
Mrs. JC just returned from a 5 day trip to Florida last night. Do any of you other married men, when this happens, find themselves frantically straightening up the house just prior to the arrival of the matriarch? I don't imagine that I'm the only one.
 
My step-sister is driving me nuts today. My parents are older and memories aren't the greatest, but they've always been fine to take care of themselves everytime I have been home. This morning I get a phone call that I can't take (because of work) and then a message saying that there must be something wrong with my step-mom because she can't remember what month it is, who the president is, or how she got dressed this morning (really....these are the questions she asked?) I call home when I get time for a break (because, you know, like a normal person I have to work) and she sounds okay, remembers that her birthday is in two days.

Shortly after I get a message that she's called back and told her to contact her dr and step-mom couldn't remember the doctors name.

Step mom goes to dr, dr tells her to go to hospital for testing. Hospital sends her home (unsure of if she had tests, but she frequently gets bladder infections so probably).

Mom calls, sounds fine.

Sister texts telling me I need to call the hospital because they won't tell her what is going on.

I have two brothers, she never messages them about anything but I have to solve all of her problems while I work my two jobs and she sits at home on her ***.

Let me say it was painful enough reading the book Barbie and the Great Puppy Adventure, but something tells me air will also have the pleasure of at least having the DVD from the library sometime. And spoiler alert, but the puppies somehow managed to tie up the bad guys all by themselves. (And yes I am being totally serious--Barbie and her sisters visit their grandma for 2 weeks. Grandma's dog just had puppies. The girls go on a treasure hunt around town with the puppies and find enough treasure to save the once-vivid but now-dying small town. And IIRC, it takes place in WI)

The bike/joggers not using the bike paths is a big peeve for me. Especially when I am coming around the curve of GW Carver or some other ridiculous place a person should not be. See that path RIGHT there?!

When is construction season over? Because north Ames really stinks right now. And on University north of Lincoln Way they were doing something which was blocking the left lane. But the sign that was up said Right Lane Closed (the word Left was on a detachable piece and it had blown up.in the wind to reveal Right instead) That was fun for traffic.
 
After a few hours I did email the sales rep. Apparently they are working on the financials of one maker that fits our original thoughts. I am starting to think that he isn't reading my last two emails where I asked if there were other options too. Didn't answer my question that if something worked if we could get it installed late next week.

I think we may just end up buying something ourselves. The only really good news is that he escalated a repair ticket that I placed a week or two ago. belch. Time to go home.

That would be really frustrating. Not to mention the worry in the back of your mind wondering if they are really okay too. I hope she is okay.
