I find it funny that one bottomless stomach is taking food from the one who needs it more right now. Tough being dad with chips. :wubclub:

Ugh, nervous about volleyball tryout results. Oldest tried out for both 13U and 14U for the same club she has played for the past 2 years. (she is actually 12U eligible but played 13U club ball last year, so going down to 12U would be a big step backwards). The other club in town is under new ownership and no one knows what will happen (no tryouts or anything set up). The other club was volleyball through All Iowa Attack run by Rachel Hockaday Petersen, a former ISU player. Last year AIA had two 13U teams, so many of the girls that played there tried out for our club. Right now our club only has coaches for one 13U team and one 14U team, so about 20 girls. I bet there were 50+ girls at tryouts. Our daughter certainly isn't an elite player, but she is one of those very coachable kids and has some natural skill. No height (sorry, kid) but would be a strong back-row player. I have been worried about it for months. She would love to play for the same coach as last year, who will now be the 14U coach. Just not sure where she will end up, if anywhere. They did say there was potential to add more teams depending on finding coaches and gym space.

Good luck to her!

But you get to sit next to CG, Woo .....
True. But I don't have the obsession for CG wdsm does (in fact, CG should give me the ticket so it doesn't go to wdsm). Don't get me wrong CG, you and DH seem cool, but I'd rather watch an Iowa State game with you guys. Now, if there's a cute, single, 21-26 year old girl who I'd be sitting next to, let me know.

Has anyone ever bought anything from Zaycon? What are your thoughts if you have?

well actually there would be like 4 girls that fit that metric, unfortunately, all are married. We're going out afterward though, so if you feel like being on the town that night, we could probably run into each other.

thinking about hosting a NYE party. Peeps at the wedding yesterday asked if we were going to host something at the house sometime. So I put together a guest list that crosses friend groups. Have almost two dozen people. I know not everyone would be available, but I'm still like eeeek.

I should get DH's mom's cheesecake recipe. A 9x13 of cheesecake would be easier to make than cheesecakes in a muffin tin, I suppose. I can always put them out onto plates.

And I asked DH about homemade pizza vs. chili and he's all

Oh well, probably just as well since my parents will be up next weekend and it would be bad to ditch them.

Side note: I'm still getting used to people I know getting engaged/married. It happened before, but back then it was "well that's an interesting decision" as opposed to now where it's actually responsible.

I feel that way about friends having babies now. Girl I knew growing up just had a baby - saw her parents at the wedding last night. I'm like but she's so young! Then I'm like, cowgirl, she's 26, married for 2-3 years, they both have degrees, excellent jobs, a house - there's nothing "woof, poor life choice" about any of this.

And that makes it weird, ha.

Yeah, it really does. I haven't experienced this, but my friends have had friends recently get pregnant (we're all about 23) and we were saying how it's funny that we don't know whether to say "congratulations!" or "I'm so sorry"

I'd go with muffin tins, just buy the foil liners. A little bit of extra work (I put the crumbs in the bottom of each, press down, pretty bake and cool) but so much easier than trying to cut a pan of cheese cake. Just my professional opinion. ;) I have a raspberry white chocolate recipe I like and a dark chocolate recipe I like, too. Cheesecake is my fave.
