I would think some of the names that popped up during the KU search would be in play if ISU is looking for a new coach. An interesting aspect of the search could be the other schools looking to find a new coach. The are a number of schools with similar stature, that ISU could be competing with.
Illinois is already in the market. Indiana is 4-0, but if they go 2-6 in Big10 play, my guess they will be looking. Purdue's head coach is only in his 3rd year, but the program is floundering and fan support isn't great. One would think their coach will get a 4th year, but in today's big money environment- it's no guarantee.
In the Big12, Rhoads is the only obvious coach on the hot seat. Strong with the Longhorns may be in trouble with their struggles and bringing in a new AD, but I think he will get a 3rd year. The wildcard could be the Wildcats, it will be interesting to see how long Snyder coaches.
