Just curious, where is the airport that's best to fly in to? Either way, its going to be renting a car and driving, right?

Just priced out flights (11/25-11/30; I extended it to Monday due to cheaper flights)

DSM to Pensacola $579
DSM to Destin $630

Expedia:
DSM to Pensacola $635
DSM to Ft Walton $571

All things considered, probably be cheaper for us to drive down there since we'd have to rent a car as well. We're pretty flexible on dates...

My flight to Biloxi from nyc is 350. But I'm doing a Tuesday to Tuesday trip and I have relatives im meeting before heading over. It's 169 miles from there to destin so wouldn't recommend it unless it is your life long dream to do a road trip along the gulf coast.

We're going, have Condo rented walking distance from team on beach Tuesday - Sunday. 3 BR Condo for $175 per night and sleeps 10. Should be fun.

You can also look at Panama City Beach. Southwest goes there. My flight was $500-ish from KC, Tuesday - Sunday.

That one bumps it up to $695. Des Moines is still ridiculously overpriced.

Alliegent has like $60-70 flights to Orlando... dirt cheap. Bit of a drive - but may be worth it.

Don't know what dates you looked at, but for the dates I had (25-30) it's $224. That plus a car rental is STILL better than the original flights.

Think we'll go that route once we get all our ducks in a row. Now to look at tickets & hotels...

I think they had them originally right after they moved to KC last week... there are some close to that the week before and the week after but not during Thanksgiving week anymore.

You get full kitchen, washer/dryer, condo on the beach. will be as cheap as a nice hotel. look on VRBO.com--then goto Okaloosa Island/Fort Walton Beach. The only downside is once you book, you pay and won't be able to cancel it.

I looked at those; we won't be there a full week, and most are priced for more than two people. We've done that before in Phoenix when my sisters & I & our spouses were visiting our dad and it was great...but it isn't cost effective for two people for four nights.

Kind of creepy to keep asking. Those poor guys have so many middle aged douchebags chasing them thru hotel lobbies with basketballs, pictures, etc ( with full intention to sell) that it must drive them nuts ( they are kids)...

Generally any planned appearances are made at or near their hotel. Sorry if I seemed "creepy". I have no intention of chasing them through a lobby, and I'm well past middle-aged. The few times I've seen the recent teams surrounded by fans, they have been exceptionally friendly and willing to interact. Perhaps Hornacek was anti-social.
