So we should only recruit kids who are fully developed. Who have reached their potential? If thats the case, we should just recruit former NBA players. That or we start calling ourselves Duke. You might also want to remember we are talking about a 16-17 year old.

Hate to tell you, we are Iowa State. Our success will be based on Prohm and staff finding guys who need polish, guys who will develop their potential, guys who have a chip on their shoulder. We have been great because of guys like Morris, Long, Ejim, Niang, etc.

They had been gaining steam lately, are the hometown team, and his father works for them. They were (and may still be) a legit threat to land him.

Easy there. To expect Prohm, to land a "breakthrough recruit like a Royce White" after less than two months at ISU seems a little aggressive. Success by the team this year to show Prohm's system and rotations will do a lot to attract recruits over this next year. The staff is hitting the road hard and building relationships, not surprising Cook speaks more about programs that he has been associated for a longer period. As long as Cook doesn't commit early I think ISU has a good chance as evidence by staying in his top 6 after the coaching change.

Tyler Cook top 6 was announced May 6th. Hoiberg announced Bull's coach on June 2nd. Prohm announced June 8th.

Boo.....hiss. You might be right, but he should look at the fact that Iowa will have many guys back that are freshmen for them this year, plus Uhl. He'd have a better chance for playing time here considering our open scholarships. Oh well.

Hard to say. The guys they'll have back aren't that great. Tyler looks pretty good. He can probably beat out most of what they'll have next year. Because of our lack of returning post presence, we will probably bring in at least 2 transfers/jucos in the front court so PT may or may not be any easier here.

No matter how good he is, he'll play at Iowa, since they utilize their derpth. But even if he is leaps and bounds better than the next person he'll still play a max of 25 minutes.

While I agree with most of what you said, the 16/17 class is going to HAVE to have at least 2 bigs who can play immediately. We can afford to reach on guards that may take a year to develop but we needs bigs who can play from day 1. Idk what you are talking about with guys like Morris and Niang though, they both were highly regarded as very polished, skilled recruits. They hit the ground running and never looked back.
 
We will prolly take a few jucos just so we have some class balance down the line.
