over/under on passing out or getting into a tiff with DH this afternoon when we set up sprinklers. Maybe we can at least use the hose on each other a time or too and that will keep temps down....

need to remind myself that DH put time and effort into this and it is saving money even though by the end of the evening I may find that extra money well spent to have it done by someone else......
I'm not gonna post what I really want to on this.

And cowgirl, the fact that you know it's probably a good idea means that regardless of how it goes it'll all turn out great

this project has some red flags to me, but as long as it doesn't cost us more than $400 more, it will be financially worth it.

Usually what drives me crazy is DH is so particular and can be slow at getting to the actual project. Something something measure twice cut once :P We ended up doing a lot of that prep stuff the last two nights, so I'm hoping we can move pretty quickly getting it set up. He's got the timers all set and mapped out where to put everything.

anyone ever put in a lawn before? How sturdy is the seed? We got some brief downpours last night that did some minor rut-making on parts of the yard. Plus I see it may do that again tomorrow. Wondering if we should go find some seed and throw more out in those areas or if it will fill in on its own fine.

Just don't wear white.
Don't listen to her. Wear white. The thinner the better. As wxman1 said, "Do you want her to die!?!?!? It is hot our (sic). For her own health and safety white is the only acceptable color to wear."

Besides, WDSM is sitting in your tree. You might as well make it worth his while.

I don't think I even have a white shirt. A couple stretchy layering tanks but those don't really count. Well, hmm. DH would highly approve of that and probably thank all of you for the suggestion. But nope, backyard isn't private enough for that.

Probably just use a workout top since it's going to get all schnasty.

I've really go to get into this program. My wake up at 5:15 to work out and fall half asleep at my desk after lunch thing seems like it is putting too much stress on my body. I feel that the nutrient level in my body is sorely deficient in necessary hops and other fermented grains. As the world's foremost certified expert on LIIT would you find this self-diagnosis to be accurate?

Sounds to me like you're nap deficient. I'd recommend a nap now, and a steak and a beer for dinner.

If the rain was strong enough to make some ruts, then it took away the seed that was there prior to the ruts. What your soil really needs is some ground cover, which isn't going to happen for a while until the grass grows. In the mean time you can lightly spread some hay over the bare ground to help prevent erosion. You can buy some more matching seed if you think there will be bare spots.

How much of it is in constant shade? That part won't grow well.

My son's baseball team, which had won only four games all year, won their first playoff game last night. They beat a team 12-2 that they had been ten-runned by twice earlier this year. We are rewarded for this victory by getting to travel to lovely St. Cloud, Minnesota on Monday Night after work.

This is the emotional struggle of parenthood. You are happy that your child won his game and advanced in the playoffs. However, it sure would be nice to get your Summer back a little bit earlier.

Parents of younger kids, be prepared for this. Being a parent is a blast but be prepared for this moral struggle.

stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinkybeans. That's what we figured too. It was a nice gentle rain much of the afternoon and we were like sweet! Then a couple downpours and we were yelling at the rain to stahp.

They do have straw mats in some of the more erosion prone areas. Maybe we'll get a bag tomorrow and do some touch ups after the rain goes through in the afternoon. Can we literally just sprinkle it out there in areas we think need it or do we need to be all meticulous about it? I don't want to use a spreader thing because a. don't want anything out there but my feet if I can help it and b. we don't have one.
