Most guys would have lied about not being around next year.
I have been pretty level headed about this, but I will admit this one makes me a bit angry.

I feel like the kid who had the date lined up for prom with the longtime friend from childhood...who then you find out decided to go with the stud at school and it'd been lined up for months...
Makes the awful Tourny game that much worse. Probably added to Hoiberg's emotional reaction to the loss, considering I'm sure he knew at that time it might've been his last game.
Yep. The what "could have been" question for 15-16 will be at the top of the ISU list. Right there with not playing MSU in Auburn Hills in the EE.
I have always hated the Bulls. Just intensified with their treatment of Thibs. I also could accept the Twolves or Cavs easier. I just feel like with the Bulls, we are getting dumped for a crappy job with crappy management, entitled fan base (although have seen this increase for Cyclone MBB fans), and an aging roster. Don't care if they have a shot in the crappy east.

meh,in college the HC is both coach and GM so unless he's a schizophrenic a college coach probably isn't arguing over what players to get or how best to use them.
There were some legit issues with how Thibs coached his team so it's not like the Bulls front office is full of morons for wanting to get rid of the guy.

What about people that don't live in downtown chicago but claim they live in chicago. Apparently this really bothers people in chicago.
Yep, it's not hard to realize that if Fred was staying at Iowa State he would have talked/put out a release awhile ago saying he was staying. Not good for recruiting/program with that hanging out there. Instead haven't heard a peep from him.
I think Otz is getting the job. He's really close to Jamie and I think Pollard is going to give him the shot at it. Very risky I think but it worked with Fred so maybe lightning strikes twice.
Yeah, that's pretty clear this has been brewing...now, if it would have said, "Not sure I can commit for your jr/sr year at ISU in 2018/19", that's different.
At least he did not lie to the kid just to get him to come here. I would say his integrity rose in my book.
Well in terms of integrity, with the player, it was actually a high level of integrity.
But I get where you are coming from.
I try really hard to be a good person in times like this and think, "okay, well I'll tune into Bulls games now and continue to root for Hoiberg." But I guess I just have a black heart, hope the United Center burns to the ground.
Kind of agree on this. He knew he was going to go to the NBA, he should have just quit and let us move on with the coaching search and recruiting.
Why, because he told the truth to a recruit?
I'm sure JP knew this all along too. It's probably why Matt A jumped and TJ was brought back in, Romar's comments, etc....
