i have repeatedly said he can do what he wants.
But it what is perfectly clear if he leaves is that he doesn't like Iowa state enough to stay. You should think too.
If if he leaves he doesn't like Iowa state all that much. Coaching here was never his dream. It was a means to an end.
Agree...not the same example, that's like saying someone doesn't care about their family when they leave an Ames engineering company to go work for NASA.
right but it is clear they don't like the Ames engineering company as much as NASA.
Its fine no need to pretend he really likes coaching at Iowa state. If he did, he wouldn't leave. H
i don't think so. And that's fine. But if he liked it enough he would stay for more than 5 years.
So he takes mostly Floyd players to new heights and then recruiting falls of while he is there then their records tank all the while drinking with college coeds and people still want him back i just dont get it.
He had an awful first year with Floyd's players...the year after when he brought in Horton and Tinsley we won the Big 12...the year after that when all we had left from Floyd was Rancik and Shirley, we won the Big 12...
i didn't say a thing about his family.
I I said if he leaves the nba is more important than Iowa state. That isn't shocking or crazy.

One thing to remeber with Fred. His wife and kids will have a say in what happens. This isn't a decision he will make on his own.
I've always wondered if his wife wanted to be back in a big city. Spending your entire marriage in Indianopolis, Chicago, and Minneapolis and then moving to Ames is probably quite the culture shock.
She said "more important to him AND his family" not "more important to him THAN his family".
