These two (third behind) were all planted at the same time. The sad one probably gets the NW winter wind while the other one is sheltered by the house more.
We also need something to replace some sedum in our landscaping. We tried replacing them twice but either hit it at a bad time (too wet) or they just don't like that area.

Anyone know how to change the site layout on mobile? I switched to the regular view on accident and can't figure out how to change it back

The one on the left looks like the Peanuts Christmas tree! What's the soil like there and is the left tree lower and maybe wetter? Sometimes planting pines is a bit of a crap shoot the first two years. I still water mine in pretty good each fall to prep for winter. They are on a mounded up area with a side slope so there isn't any danger of me saturating them even with my clay soil. Going into winter dry isn't good for evergreens.

and to prove you have opened the Pandoras garden box by engaging a landscape architect with garden posts, here are pictures!

Scroll to the bottom and look to the left. Should be some type of drop down menu that you can change.

The slope is very, very slight (if at all) between the two trees. I know our soild definitely isn't as much clay as you have up north. Considering we have a farm field not 50feet from the trees, it can't be too bad. ;)

When we lived in Lakeville we had very thick, clay soil. One fall hubby dug up all along one side of our garage to plant bulbs, that was fun when it was wet. But looked pretty in the spring. We also had some sand veins or something close to the house that contantly had water runiing through them--our sump would fill multiple times an hour everyday 24/7. It was illegally routed to the laundry sink during the winter. During rains it was a wonder it could keep up. Thankfully we never had it go out, the previous owners had done a battery back-up after a failure/flooding.

Sorry, Pantsy, a wedding isn't in the plans for this weekend. :( Been dealing with sick kids and trying to get 2 people packed for a weekend trip. I was also busy last night making these, I still have a few left if you want to stop by after your wedding shenanigans.

Well, pants...I guess we know where we stand...at 10:18 Birdy was all "Oh, geez, love to, but sooo busy" to my message that I'd be in town for the movie night...at 10:27, she's all "Oh, hai, pantsy...wanna stop by for some cupcakes?"

:no::no:

It's clear I need to start being more of a jerk.

Birdy and I have that kind of relationship. Like, you can tell she wants to move forward, but something is holding her back. Probably the fact that she's happily married with kids, and house and a few dying trees.

Dem cupcakes tho.

Surprisingly, this is actually LESS naughty in reality than it sounds.

I wouldn't care if my wife put out, if she made things that looked like those baked goods.

I won't lie, I'm proud of CF. I expected the Bruce Jenner thread to be much worse than it was when I opened it. I mean, there's still some stupid in it, but most of it is from Clonedude, so that's really nothing new or unexpected.

I don't give a **** if someone wants to change gender. Doesn't make any difference to my life. One less dude to compete with haha.

oh thannnnnnnnnnnnk you baby Jesus the bad side curled today. I spent two hours setting up (and we get to take it all down yet, YAY!) and I'm starving but by golly this hair shall curl.

00--looks like you could go enjoy a movie at Kinnick in June. Imitation is the best form of flattery, right? (Doing the exact same thing as ISU has done now going on three years)

Struggling mightily with my inner sloth. The laziness has came down upon me today with a great vengeance.

Need to kick sloth to the curb and at least go outside and do a little bit of yard work. It's cool and windy but the sun is out for real.

00 is not a movie guy. I cannot see him sitting through what is likely to be a silent movie screening of Battleship Potemkin. Hey, we are talking U of I here.

My inner sloth typed this to keep me from doing yard work.
