Random thoughts III

So I am house/pet-sitting for friends of mine this week. UPS guy just delivered a package and I had to meet him out front in the driveway so the dogs wouldn't bite his legs off. I am curious so I go to the website and track the package and it says:

"Left at:
Met Customer Boy"

I don't get it. Sure I may look young for my age, but that's twice in one week. It was the mail lady a few days ago who thought I was in high school.

You're looking at the wrong part of this, chaser...note that your friend had no issues with deliveries, other than your involvement. Always look for the commonalities.

chaser, at least then when you're 40, people will think you're 25.

workout class was outside today.........so nice for it!

DH and I need to take a day off together and actually not do anything. Last time we went to lots of floor places and spent several hours with the electrician. This time it looked like it'd be lazyish other than buying the rest of our lights. Then we decided we'd take both cars to change the oil. Then house people asked if we could do a walk through. And person from place we're buying all our floors is going to come by and just sort of see how things will look/look at the tile we got.

So all of a sudden it's a busy day!

last random thought (for this post) anyone else watching the Ken Burns' cancer documentary on PBS this week? Definitely not an entirely happy series, but the history behind how we got to where we are medically is pretty fascinating. DH is hooked too.

Working out starts tomorrow.

Maybe.

do something strenuous but not killer. And don't think you're going to go every day for an hour. I burned myself out many times thinking I was going to get into great shape by immediately jumping into a workout program. Starting off 2-3 days a week with 30 minutes was a lot easier. Not saying you don't know what to do, just relaying my own crash and burn tendencies.

I just need to become active again.

Even if it means going walking.

First thunderstorm in my new house. Time to see if there are any leaks.

Just became an uncle again (foe the eighth time). I might have to completely turn off my phone tonight as I'm getting replies to a group text with photos every 90 seconds.

My sister didn't waste much time at the hospital apparently. Apparently they left her house at 230 and baby ocho was born at 640.

Hey, here's me not being a smartypants....Taking time off and not doing anything...I cannot stress this enough for especially once you have kids. I know it's hard, but get some friends in the same situation and do a babysitting exchange. As much as I hate my schedule meaning me not seeing the kids very much on M, W, and Th...the time alone with Mrs. 00clone on Wednesday mornings is so valuable. (and no, I'm not just talking sessytimes, although...I mean...I'm not going to complain) We've also started making Sunday nights after they go to bed more purposefully 'us time'. And I realize that you were talking stress of house stuff, but it's a good reminder for all of us, too.

Just this afternoon, I heard two negative nancy co-workers griping, one said "heh, yep, you said 'I do', and then she said 'I don't have to'". These two are beyond arguing with, so I just sat there thinking...man, you must not be taking care of your wife in bed or out of it, 'cause my wife wants it anytime we can (within reason). Hasn't always been that way, but once I got me becoming better, 'us' got a lot better, too.

At the risk of sounding like one-upper guy, I think baby 1 was born within 2 hours of leaving for the hospital...definitely under 3. Baby 2, Mrs. was all tough girl, we don't need to go in yet, and I was like...they come faster with the next ones, generally, and we have to drop the oldest off at my brother's house, let's not deliver in the car, hon. I think it was less than an hour after we got to the hospital.

The lightning was pretty impressive.

Kung Fu lightning!

So, on Facebook, you can see if one of your friends comments on another status of someone you may not be friends with.

So a friend's friend JUST posted about Dennis Hopper dying. He died in 2010. Luckily, it was my friend saying "Didn't he die awhile ago?"

Good.....grief.

Speaking of babies, my husband's coworker just became a grandpa for the first time. She's one of those babies that looks a lot older than just over 24 hours old. (Was being shown Facebook pics)

well, we didn't do anything a couple Saturdays so we did have that. But I would like to just do non-errand/house stuff on a work day. Feels like playing hooky.

ick, DH's cousin who I judge anyway just started that ItWorks crap. Why do so many people get sucked into that crap thinking it actually works?!
