I went to my niece's cheer competition Saturday afternoon. With all apologies to those that have been in the sport and are good people, that was a collection of some of the things I hate most in this world: the same songs remixed into some craptastic 4 hour deafening cacophony, mothers living vicariously through their kids, little girls wearing Taiwanese prostitute make-up, ridiculous fake smiles, and an overabundant focus on self-image..

Ha! I definitely learned to appreciate the ones in my life a little more after that anyway!

On a good note, another one of my nieces had a good weekend. Apparently Jameel McKay bought her some shots for her 21st birthday.

^^^^^ Thiiii-effin'-iiissssss. I am amazed at how, even after all the hollywood gossip pages, that people can so focus on such a group of screwed up individuals.

Honestly, though, I guess in a society that more and more values being self-centered, egotistical, and phony....those people are the best at it.

I don't know who she is, or even if the tattoo is on her back. The picture I posted was shared by a friend on FB this morning, and I remembered it when I read Woo's comment.

This is why we have the jimlad, and why I should have used it.

Anytime anyone on Facebook complains about the weather, I usually just take a screenshot of the forecast here and post it in the comments.

I made a new recipe last night. Basically chicken, taco seasoning, salsa cooked overnight then add fat free yogurt warm and serve over rice. It was the best smell to wake up to at 3:00AM when Z woke up and needed something.

People do complain too much. Get a nice picture of the landscapes near you too. I love seeing the vegetation and flowers there.

Boxster, how much longer are you staying there? If it's going to rain the rest of the week, I hope there is other entertainment.

I partially watched a behind the scenes program of Disney resorts and a tiny bit of their cruises. I almost think I would prefer one of their cruises to going to the parks.

Sudden random thought. Any recipe ideas that include: eggs, flour, salt, baking soda or powder, but I don't have any butter. I need to bring something to work on Thursday. Or at least I'd like to.

So, who else is looking for a new CSA this year? Who's with me? (OK, probably no one, that's cool)

On one hand, we really liked the people that ran the one we were in last year, and the herb garden was really nice, they were very heavy on a few things (Kale, hot peppers) and didn't have a few other things I would have wanted (carrots...really, are carrots that much to ask for?)

The ones we're looking at...one has inconvenient pickup locations/times, the other had a son who played for Iowa...

Hmmm...uptown problems, right?

Do you have oil? A lot of muffin recipes use oil instead of butter. A couple of our favorites are pumpkin chocolate chip (obviously need pumpkin puree and chocolate chips) and chocolate banana with chocolate chips.

I went out and started the fiancees car this morning. It was minus 5F. An hour later, I went out to get coffee and do some shopping. It warmed up to a balmy...FARK YOU MOTHER NATURE
