Kansas fans

Last night you could see a different energy at Phog Allen, KU fans were fired up about this game and the booing, their cheering/signs etc were very specific to ISU and Hilton in particular. It says a lot about where they see ISU, even if they don't want to admit it. A lot of that has to do with the fact that they realize we care about basketball more than any other school in our league.

So you are saying that Self is an average to slightly below tournament coach (27 wins when PASE would say a little 28 wins were expected).
 
This conversation reminds me of when hawkeye fans try to debate isu fans about Fran vs Fred, and how both programs have done since the coaching hires. All we do is laugh at them because no matter what they say they have no winning argument, and just make themselves look dumber and dumber.
 
Who gives a flying **** about booing? It's pretty sissy of us to gripe about another fanbase's booing, even if they do it hypocritically.

If you look at Self's entire coaching career, his PASE score is slightly positive. I think he has won 3 more games than would be expected based on seeding. But I don't think a coach's PASE score is really a great measure of his coaching ability. Calipari greatly improved his PASE score based on what Kentucky did in the tournament last year as an 8 seed. And Calipari is a great coach. But I would think even more of his coaching ability if Kentucky had a great regular season and did what they did in the tournament as a #1 seed. The best way to be considered a good "tournament coach" is to underachieve in the regular season. And Self's teams just never do that. His teams play with a level of intensity in the regular season that you don't see from most teams until the postseason. Everybody gives 100% in the tournament.

They blew us out on their home court and we blew them out on ours. Not seeing how one is better than the other right now.

I don't think you'd find any ISU fan describing that second year's NCAA first round loss as anything less than embarrassing. The loss to Michigan State in the elite 8 the year before was described as the "true championship game" by more than one outside sports writer so take that for what it's worth. Any other questions?

This is exactly right. Just because the game in their arena happened second doesn't mean that somehow it puts our win at Hilton below theirs.

So to sum up ISU as the frontrunner, no National Championships, no Final Fours, one extremely embarassing loss. Thanks for your spectacular resresentation of the Big 12.
 
KU fans conveniently seem to forget about our final 4 run in the 1940's. I remember it like it was yesterday. The glory years.

I'm just happy Hampton doesn't come up every March. Sometimes it feels like it's been forgot about. I do see this every March though

Note in my first post that I completely admitted that was an awful loss. You've done nothing but be defensive about all of the early exits (dictated by their seed) that Kansas has had in the last decade or so. Carry on.
