Scherff to play

He had surgery, 100% confirmed on KCRG last night. Very risky to put him out there, still has a sleeve on his knee.

hoks and freerents obviously running scared of our DL......putting a player with major surgery on the field 4 days out from a major surgery.....

It's a Super Bowl version of a Super Bowl.

Whether he plays major time or not, this whole thing has been a total smokescreen/misinformation campaign by the Hawk program.

ISU's super bowl indeed...

There must be something we don't know. My uncle is an orthopedic surgeon in Minnesota. I asked him about it and he said playing today would be possible but would not be recommended. I can't believe the medical staff cleared him, if he really had the surgery. It would open them up to potential liability of negligence if they allow what a normal doc would advise against. Again, the must be something here that we don't know.

I don't think anyone really knows what was or was not done to his knee.

Morehouse reporting ISU was informed yesterday that Scherff was cleared to play.

Playing hurt, and the mighty Hawks still lose. I guess it wasn't worth it.

Wonder if Iowa tries this next year for the tenth time, it's every year. This year was two guys!

He was not very effective in the second half, and was noticeably limping. I guess it is a judgment call, and he didn't look like he got hurt any worse.

Arthroscopic knee surgery is about as minor of a surgery as there is. Open heart surgery, knee replacement, gall bladder removal - all major surgeries. A 1-hr procedure where you go home 2 hours later is not major.

Depends on the extent, I was on crutches for a month after my acl surgery which was arthroscopic knee surgery. Trust me nobody would be walking in the mall let alone playing football after my procedure.

Clearly I was talking about surgery to repair/remove part of the meniscus. I don't think anyone is saying that Scherff had ACL reconstruction surgery.
