Holy cow. Didn't get to watch the ESPY's yet, but twitter blew up about Stuart Scott's acceptance speech so I had to check it out.

One of the best speeches I've seen recently. Goosebumps throughout the speech with some laughs and a few tears sprinkled in.

Cancer runs in my family and hearing what he goes through is pretty surreal. I can't even imagine. Hope with all of money that comes from the V Foundation that they can 1 day find a cure so people can stop losing their loved ones.

It's inspiring the amount of grace some people can exhibit when faced with challenges like his.

That sweet little girl didn't expect him to call her up on stage with him, either. She had probably slipped out of fancy strappy shoes that would take too long to put back on...it looked like she reached down for them, but then went on up to the stage barefoot. Even then, she was nearly as tall as her dad. Maybe not so little... :)

I still don't know if he is losing this battle or if there is still a chance he can make it. He looks way thinner and that is to be expected. Always loved Stewart Scott

From what I've been seeing, he asked to not hear his prognosis.

That is the way to do it. My father did the same thing. They were required by law to send a letter to him though (and I think the life insurance company). When he passed away, I was executer of his will. I was going through his desk looking for things. I found about 40 envelopes with his prognosis at the time. The first one was opened (I'm assuming he didn't know what it was) and the rest weren't.

He was only supposed to live 3 months. He went on to live 9 years. He was just too stubborn to lose.

Being on sportscenter with his one-liners doesn't portray the kind of person Stuart Scott is. That was a great speech, very articulated.

YES!

I had to stop it a few times just to make it through without bawling like a little boy. Him asking his daughter for a hug almost got me though.

That's the part where a few tears ran down the face. I immediately shotgunneer 12 budweisers and ate a 40oz porterhouse to regain my manhood.

Awesome speech! That guy is so much more than a cue card reader and one-liners. He gave a great speech on probably the most difficult subject for him. Wow.

The pre award video was powerful too. I started tearing up when he went to talk to the older gentleman sitting in the chair. Stuart was giving him words of encouragement and they were both sobbing. Little things like that to other people that are dealing with cancer can make a ton of difference to their state of mind
