***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***

This article will probably ruffle the feathers of those here who think that the Big 12 GOR would prevent teams from bolting for a few years. Clay Travis does have a law degree, and I'd like to see him expand on his opinion that the GOR would be unenforceable.

I would be leery of any legal opinion that makes conclusions without citing legal precedent.

Should we be worried about the b12 being poached anytime soon? Or otherwise imploding? A few articles make it sound like we are next on the chopping block for the super-conferences (big 10 and SEC)

He might be right. Then again, I would assume that a roomful of lawyers with actual experience in contract law would have consulted or even written the grant of rights. Plus I would assume each member school had legal council consult before agreeing to it. So he knows more than ALL of them?

Maybe. But not likely.

Only if Texas wants out. As long as UT stays, the conference will be fine IMO.

Bargaining chip for Big 12? Sounds like BYU will not be considered in "power 5" conversation

Brett McMurphy ‏@McMurphyESPN 1h ACC, SEC can/will still play BYU, it just won’t count as meeting requirement of 1 game vs. non-conference Power 5 team

Interesting that this thread has been resurrected. I'm not sure if ya'll have noticed or not but the B12 Expansion Committee is gathering to meet next week.

We aren't expanding (which is good news).

/thread
I would not say that, the Big 12 may have no choice. We will see how the playoff works out without the CCG. If the Big 12 gets left out due to only 12 games vs 13, expansion will happen, OU AD has stated as much already.

According to one WVU fan on Twitter that admits everything he says is rumor. There is no proof that the expansion committee even exists anymore.

If the Big 12 expands, its east not west.

Having a conference that stretches from Provo to Morgantown is even more ridiculous than the Big 10 going from Lincoln to College Park...

Well North Dakota State is a given for one slot. BYU can be the travel partner. Done deal.

Yes, I think one school is undoubtedly UCONN.
