This is several years old, but better than the short clip:

HA, HA HA HA HA! at that short fat dude just standing there with his hands up and then waddling up the court at 0:15 s in. Geez, that blue and yellow team looks like the reject team from an open gym night at the Y.

wish there were some highlights of him vs. competition in the states. Aussie bball isn't quite up to par with prep programs here. How's he been playing at ICCC?

He goes to ABCD Prep in Des Moines. They play against a lot of community colleges so if we did actually get him, playing that tough schedule would help prepare him you'd think. They produced one division 1 talent last year. 6-8 forward Ivan Lukic went to James Madison.

We are all probably wasting our time posting videos as I doubt it's true. That being said here's another one. Haha. It's their replay against ICCC. They got crushed. Malou is 21 in black

Does anybody remember Emmanuel Malou from Des Moines? (ABCD Prep). The other day he tweeted a picture of Hilton after the win over Auburn and it got me wondering where did he end up. I searched his name on twitter and there was a Hawkeye fan who said he is a future Cyclone.

@HawkeyeCentral1: Emmanuel Malou, a 6'9 Guard and future Cyclone, is playing against Iowa Central tonight. I'll be there

I didn't believe it so I googled his name and found an article saying the same thing. The article is from 2 days ago. Triton men will host ABCD Prep - MessengerNews.net | News, Sports, Jobs, Community Info. - The Messenger

He's 2014 I think. I am definitely not saying I believe either one of those poeple but it does make you wonder if it has legs.
I could be wrong but it thought a while back he announced he would play pro ball overseas.

Hmmm, an Aussie player at a brand new "prep" school that doesn't actually have a campus, who has already declared for the NBA draft previously..... I'm guessing there are some academic challenges for Malau.

Just curious- As I didn't pay attention to recruiting before this year, what recruits were the biggest gut punches when we didn't land them? ie like if we miss on Vaughn at this point?

Their have been no "gut punches". We seem to be doing just fine with the kids who made their commitment to Hoiberg.

Harrison Barnes would be the obvious comparison. Though I was resigned to the fact he was going to NC before he announced so I wasn't truely gut punched.
Couple of recient ones: Jaylen Johnson. Austin Granstaff committing to OSU right after announcing his visit date to ISU.
Actually when J. McKay declaired for Marquette early I was disappointed. Of course that has since worked out.

If Harrison Barnes stays home, we don't have Hoiberg. Hoiberg > Barnes.

Johnson and Grandstaff? We were late to the party with them. Honestly, I don't know if "missing" on Johnson is going to be a big deal. Grandstaff...maybe, but Fred will have guys who will make AG their *****.

wut? I was just answering Dingus's quesion by citing some examples of players that CFH recruited had planned visits and suddenly declaired. They were "gut punch" type commitments for me at the time.
I am sure there are more examples.
At the time Barnes going to North Carolina was a huge "gut punch" to many on CF. We can all look back and say were better off now due CFH, but Mac really needed Barnes to jump start his program and get that team some respectability. Hoiball wasn't even a sparkle in our Fanatics eyes for another year, it was looking pretty bleak in Ames for MBB. Not trying to argue just clarifying.
Your point is well taken though it appears eveything in hindsight worked out for the best.

I know. I wasn't trying to rail you (or anyone else). I just don't think anyone can look at recruiting "misses" that way. Have to look at things with hindsight, because one never knows if there was a true "miss" or not, until you can compare.

So far, there have been none I would consider "misses" yet, because Fred has brought in other guys who make me forget about the ones at other schools.
