I'll say it again. I expect an apology from CPR for ******* away the momentum by not playing to win when we got the ball at midfield with 3 minutes left in the first half. It may (or may not) have been Mess that made that call, but the buck stops with CPR. As an ISU fan of 30+ years, I knew at the time what would ensue. That was such a horrible coaching decision that they really need to apologize to the players and to us fans.

How can you blame it entirely on coaching when 3 or 4 ISU players were right next to the punt returner before he even caught the ball?

Have to agree. By throwing away that series we gave OU the chance to make a play and change the momo and they did. Game over from that point on.

I couldn't believe the people that weren't upset about the punt return, and thinking we still had a shot at that point just because it was tied. That punt return was everything. This OU team was completely lifeless and looked like they couldn't have cared less about this game until the punt return.

If you are a Cyclone football follower at all, you should have known it was over at that point.

OU was on their heals. They had to punt the ball from deep in their territory. There was 3:01 left in the first half, we had the wind and the momentum and we had just called timeout. Perfect time for a 1-8 team with nothing to lose to stomp on their throats. Nope..............we do the Danny Mac, let them up to breath and the rest is history. Don't know if we would have won or not even if we are aggressive. But playing not to lose is what losers do. And regardless of record........I didn't think that was CPR. Beginning to rethink.

I don't think anyone is happy with the players, but the coaches wrote the ****** when they didn't try to get a first down on the preceding drive.
