I have 2 daughters living out of state. I am thinking of getting them both a subscription to cyclone tv. They have macbook pros, not an ipad. Will they be able to access content. TIA

Yes. They won't have a problem. I use my macbook pro for it.

Yep, should have no problem with it. Should work on most all computers. Great gift, by the way!

I use it on my Macbook Pro. Not too bad. I usually connect my computer into the TV though! Makes it way better.

I will wait to start my subscription to CyTV just in time for basketball season - like I did last year. I have a Macbook Pro and was pleased with the service and features. I expect it to be even better this year. If I was in your daughters' shoes, I'd be elated to receive that as a gift!

Great gift idea! I love what they've done with cyclones.tv. It's a lot of great content.

OK, not a Mac user, so see others' comments on that, but with reference to GoSTATE's comments above, you may want to throw in an AppleTV for each of them, they can stream their cyclones.tv content wirelessly to their TV's! (If that works with AppleTV, from what I've heard it should).

Or you could just plug your computer in to the TV with this thing called an HDMI cable.

True, but then you have to leave your computer within HDMI cable range of the TV. With Apple TV, you can sit on the couch (or anywhere within wifi range)with no wires and still use your computer. But hey, thanks for the input. Shoulda figured there'd be smugness in a thread even remotely referencing apple products.

Take it easy on this guy. He hasn't figured out there are devices that do the same thing as Apple TV for windows laptops.
:jimlad:

Really depends how cheap you want to be. Pay $10 and deal with a HDMI cable or pay $100 and stream it wireless to your TV.

That's why I don't have one. However, dude was asking about presents for his daughters, just trying to help the girls get some swag.

BINGO. Actually, you can use the same HDMI cord that you use from your reciever to the TV and pay nothing. Just saying.

You can get a long *** HDMI cable from Monoprice.com at a very good price. Do not buy cables from anywhere else...ever.
