The SEC chant is kind of dumb, IMO. I doubt anyone in their basketball program had anything to do with the decision, and certainly the players weren't involved. Plus, I'm sure they hear it about every game now... Not very original and a little Busch League I think.
There is nothing wrong with it. Mizzou chanted it at FB games after they were invited.
The chant is dumb because we're mocking them for joining (currently) the best conference in college football.

Mizzou chanting it at FB games, I'm assuming when they were winning against Big 12 teams, makes sense. If I were a completely clueless fan -- as in, didn't know which team was in what conference -- and I heard ISU fans chanting "S-E-C" I would think they were in the SEC and the other team in a lesser conference and that the SEC was dominating the lesser conference. If A&M were beating us at their place, and they had an SEC chant it would make sense. Maybe we're just interpreting it two different ways.

Exactly, that's why we have jimlads...some people just can't understand sarcasm.
Someone needs to make one of those gigantic head cutouts of a jimlad for the next game, just so peeps unnerstand this stuff.
It's not, but there's definitely more crossover than one would think. They've done a good job with publicity, having the call-in shows after games and CW doing the chats on the DMR website.
Cyclone fanatic is not cyclone alley, it's much less contrived and pointlessly hierarchical. What I was getting at is that cyclone fanatic has jimlads because apparently the subtle hilarity of well placed sarcasm is lost on some.
Apparently it's bad enough that we need them in every day life.

Nobody should have overthought the mocking chant. I thought the students hit the nail on the head with that one.
It's not like we get another chance to embarrass them here. Have to get it all in at once.
