BTW, they updated the ESB website. It now says the east and west sides will be red/yellow/red.

RUNYYFan, it looks like you'll primarily be able to see the south side from W 32nd St and 5th Ave. No offense, but I'm much more looking forward to getting shots of the east and west sides. Any idea where the best place to get one of those shots might be?
Totally understand.

blitz has it about right for a "perfect" shot. But from the ground, I'd suggest going to the corner of Broadway and W35th St., in front of what used to be a Conway's store (I can't remember what is there now). Macy's at Herald Square will be on the opposite corner, same side of the street. You should be able to get the west side of the ESB from there.

Remembering what I do about W35th from 5 Ave. eastward, I don't think there are too many vantage points, because of the buildings.

Hope this helps.

So no chance to see Cardinal and Gold from Top of the Rock is there?

I think the Rockefeller Center is directly north of the Empire State Building. But at least our colors are facing New Jersey (and Iowa!).

Maybe some of the Rutgers guys can confirm the best locations for photos if anything has changed since they posted the info I pasted above.

Details are given on the Iowa State Bowl Central webpage. It is going to begin with a Spirit Walk and follow-through with a pep rally at Yankee Stadium on Friday.

It would be fun to have had something on Thursday night also. Maybe some of us can put together something that is more family friendly, such as at a Dave & Busters. Or maybe there is an ESPN Zone in NYC.

Both Dave & Busters and ESPN zone are on 42nd street by Times Square. . . dont ask me for an exact address or directions cuz I don't know, just know its there.

Anybody interested in trying to put together a party at Dave & Buster's on Thursday night? If so, I will contact the manager and see if we can get some specials (play our hit video on their TVs, play the fight song, door prizes, etc.).

Reply or PM if you are interested.

This probably sounds bad, but we would not have attended a pep raply anyway. We are cramming so.much site seeing into our 3 days there that we couldn't afford to set aside a couple hours for a pep rally.

What? You aren't even going to the Spirit Walk and the pep rally right before the game. And you don't have time for a few games and beer in Times Square on the night before the game? We are saving our sight-seeing for Saturday.

The fact that you are still reading this thread means that your conscience is telling you that you should be doing more fan-oriented things on your trip. :twitcy:
