UNI is an FCS mid-major. We are a big 12 conference team. We should be winning at very least the majority of our basketball games against a team like this (especially in a young year for them), and should never fear them in football.

Honestly, I won't think twice about UNI until the night of whenever ISU plays them again.
I have an extreme amount of respect for UNI and for their entire athletic department. Troy Dannen has done an incredible job! They are an FCS powerhouse in football. They are ranked in the Top 5 year after year after year. Ben Jacobson is, in my opinion, the best coach in all of college basketball. The UNI volleyball team is perhaps the best UNI sports program of all and they are building a consistent winner in women’s basketball. UNI consistently over achieves in each sport.
Does losing to UNI hurt? Yes. I have neighbors, friends, and work colleagues who are UNI fans. It hurts!!! I am in pain this morning.
However, how could anybody have nothing but respect for UNI? I respect the hell out of UNI.

Ha! Well, being that you just posted here, you've thought about them again, the day after you said you wouldn't think about them again.
I hate UNI, I hate their fans, I hate their basketball team, I hate their football team. I don't care if "I should cheer for the instate team", their fans are douchebags. If we have "little brother syndrome" to Iowa, then UNI fans are on a whole different level to us. They have their decade of dominance, it'll be over with soon. Both of the bigger universities went through a tough spell and that allowed UNI to rise up. I think/hope both are getting back on their feet soon, so UNI shouldn't really dominate that much longer. To argue that they have a better program then us simply because we are down and they are up is ridiculous, yet I see so many UNI fans doing it. UNI is my least favorite team.:realmad:
I will respect UNI when they have success in a BCS conference. Since they will never join one, the simple answer is that I will never respect UNI athletics, no matter what they achieve.

I assume the people that are saying that UNI won't join BCS level football know that they probably can't because of their stadium size. I'm not trying to defend them but some people honestly don't know that.
All UNI students and fans are squawkeye fans FIRST AND FOREMOST so....

btw i had an assistant who had 2 sons who went to UNI and while at UNI as students both had season tix to Univ of Iowa football
