this doesn't mean squat, KU may prefer to stay with KSU, but KU prefers to make sure it lands first and foremost... KU and Missouri as a package makes a lot more sense to say the big 10 then including KSU.

Kansas and K-State are in the same boat so they're sticking together. Iowa is perfectly fine in the Big Ten, they're not going to worry about ISU. If anything, they view this as a way to strengthen its grip on the state
Iowa and KU aren't in similar positions. KU can say "To get me you have to take K-State", Iowa can't say "Take Iowa State or I'm leaving".

Anyone catch the latest post on nbcsports that say Texas is gone to Pac 12 move happen sooner that later?
It would be nice to have Grassley or someone really rattle that cage, but right now congress can't agree on what color the sky is. And if you stack up our delegation against other states that are changing affiliations, even with our seniority, we lose. So depending on them is probably not realistic.
But I like your quote from KSU. I hope we can stick with them somehow, they're a good rival for us. Bottom line is no one really knows anything at this point -- but we might in 48 hours.
I think most of us agree with this. The issue is if we can maintain the "big names" in UT and OU so the $$$$ continue to be strong. The B12 as a piecemeal conference is not as appealing but the likely result if UT/OU leave.
In the case of 16 in the PAC there wouldn't be divisions. It would be pods and the pod would be OU/OSU/KU/Mizzou. CU would still get plenty of games in California. Now if just OU/OSU are added THEN CU and the Az schools would likely be in a non Cali division.
By the way, this doesn't convince me of anything. Sounds like just as much smoke as everyone else that's "in the know" has been blowing.
If these reporters are so brilliant, don't you think one of them would have known something about Pitt and Syr to the ACC before it happened?

Have you seen the committee appointments Grassley and Harkin hold? You can like them or not, but to say they are less powerful than other senators.... I can't imagine it.
What is getting left out is that in the state of Kansas, K-State has a LOT of power in the legislature and BOR, and if they don't get a deal close to KU, there will be a holy war there. I lived in Kansas for 15 years and worked at KU, so I see them sticking together.
Disclaimer: Pure speculation. I don't know any more about what KU and KSU are planning to do than anyone else.
The frustrating thing for us right now is the other schools in our conference are waffling. We are held hostage by their indecision. Dominos are falling all around us, and the decision makers in our conference are still standing around with their pants down arguing about who's junk is more awesome. We are left sitting on the couch waiting for the QB to call us, while he is out screwing the other teams cheerleaders.
This is what I mentioned earlier. PAC or independence is "only options" for Texas. WTF????? Friggin media dying to kill the B12. If Texas's preference is to stay in the B12, the ability to do that has never been greater with the happenings in the BE.
Ridiculous.
Why pods instead of divisions? Have heard that before but haven't heard it explained. An interesting idea...
