Let's all watch this erection together!

Since I don't have an engineering degree, and know little about to begin with, what other work needs to be done between now and then? Or are things just going to sit there until they come in to installed the actual board itself?

I'm engineering challenged, so quick question. Once the cross beam is in place with the vertical supports, how exactly do they "attach" everything together? Thanks!

The truss system will actually sit on top of the two supports. Where you see each of the crane's attached to the structure itself, it is in 1 section from the end. These pick points are on the JAcobsen building side of each support. Once they get it close I would assume they would have a couple people at the top of each supporting structure as well as the JLG boom lift parked on the west side of Jake (not sure if one is on East side but I would assume so). They will rod it with their spud wrench through bolt holes on both the truss and support structure on both sides to help nudge or spin it that little bit to get it lined up and pop a bolt in at that time. I'm sure there are 50 or so bolts at the top that needs to be fastened so while they are fastening it the crane will still be attached to the member until all nuts and bolts are completely in place. At that time iron workers will climb to the top of the structure or use the boom lift to reach up to the top and unshackle the nylon straps at that point the cranes are done with the main lift

We were there waiting and had to get home and they were on break or something ,but the it was pretty cool seeing it hooked up ! My boys were pumped going back tomorrow morning to see it up !!

That is a good question. I would assume that electrical work will need to be completed and then just waiting on the boat to arrive from China with the LED panels.

I bet it was like an 8 year old Chinese kid working on it, who is getting paid 12 cents an hour and hasnt had a break in like 14 hours.

I cannot wait to watch the 10 second or so video of the lift in the archive section in a day or two.

i am pretty sure that every time you refresh this thread it also refreshes the pictures people are posting. at least it seems that way by looking at the timestamps

Yep, and if you open one of the pictures in its own window it refreshes and loads faster, plus you don't have to scroll
