Not sure what to talk about, but I noticed someone mentioning that the number of Iowa threads out numbered K-State ones.

Soooo... If any has anything to add to this feel free. Otherwise, there is no need for this K-state thread.

If we play an OU or Mizzou quality game, we will be celebrating a victory Sat afternoon. And on national TV no less.

K-State has a fairly solid team. Not sure what their weaknesses are, but they do have good special teams. We need to not give up big special teams plays, otherwise the game could end up out of reach early.

If we play with intensity and passion we have a decent chance at winning. The same thing can be said for our fans, we need to be passionate and LOUD.

Its all shaping up that way.. Hopefully the players realize they have a great chance to steal one on Saturday.

Oh and in no way does steal in this post have anything to do with DD...

Freeman's a big boy behind center. Watching some of their games earlier this year, against Auburn and Texas, he showed a lot of toughness. Nelson #27 is a big playmaker. This game is completely winnable but we have to play with the same tenacity as we have the last 2 weeks. I am confident that we will. It's a W baby.

If we win on Saturday I just may start a petition to have all our games broadcasted on Versus.

This would be a great idea until we start getting favored in our games. The Versus curse has already struck Iowa, USC, and UCLA this year... and I'm sure there are others.

Whoops. It was me who said there are more Iowa threads than K-State threads so I was in the process of creating one while this one was made.

I know... I was bored and had to be a smart-#ss..

I haven't watched K-State much the last two years but what type of QB is Freeman. Pocket or Scramble..

Also, we need to have a big day on the ground. We'll need a running back to run for 100+ yards and at least two scores. Meyer will need to not turn the ball over. If we can establish a solid running game we will be able to score points, much like at Missouri. The passing game will be there, but it can't shoulder the entire offensive burden.

Defensively, what others have said which is to limit K-State's playmakers. Hit hard. Be like gum on the bottom of their shoes. Come up with big plays!

He is a big QB and would rather stay in the pocket, but will take off when pressured but isn't too speedy because of his size. He will take on defenders with a shoulder from time to time.

I posted a bunch of stats in the other thread. The keys to the game will be limiting their passing offense and our offense putting points up on their defense.

Since I haven't done to the other thread to see the stats, are they weaker at pass defense or run...

What is going to play into our hands this weekend on offense you think?

Both teams' rushing attacks are similar. Same with Rush defenses. We are pretty even in that aspect. They are 7th in rush defense, we are 8th.

They are 4th in passing offense and have only given up 6 sacks all year. I think that will be the key to the game.

One key will be the special teams. It is going to be hard for us to beat anyone if we keep allowing the opponent to start their drives near mid field while the ISU offense starts near the 20.

I think ISU will have some success on the ground against KSU, but we are going to need to do a better job at winning the battle for field position. If we can do this, I think this team is playing well enough to give KSU a run for its money.

Yup I smell a special teams game... Good thing we have the most accurate kicker in ISU history and the best return man in the game for punts.

Just so I know... Blythe still hasn't caught a punt for a return yet???
