NFL Draft

how not? grant has been injury plagued for the last two years and guy from buffalo (name slips me) had two good games this last season and was injuried up till week 11-12ish .... sure they have kuhn but hes more of a fullback than a natural rb

RB has been marginalized in the NFL, as evident by the fact they won the Super Bowl with those two guys. Drafting a RB in the first round is overpaying for a team using the Packer's model. Drafting an OL is more important, as would be a WR imo. I would take an OLB over RB in the 1st round.

I suspect TT will go with the best value, not need.

while i agree that tt goes value ingram was highly rankd overall but also compared to the rest of his position ... but yes i agree about ol but aren't they all fairly young? ... i guess i dont see them needing a new wr with jennings, jones, nelson and finley at te ... i can undestand olb but that d was tough as nails last year i'm sure capers can find someone in the 2nd rb to b a role player in his d and convince tt with ...

Anyone just see that Iowa sleep commercial where a hawkeye fan was passed out and had a red and gold ''I'' on his face? Awesome!

Old OL.
Old and FA's at WR.
No rusher opposite Clay (imo)

Old OLine? ... only one of their starting 5 was drafted before 2004 ... and he was just repaced tonight but to say its old is reaching a bit ... only old wr u have is driver n he's a fa I listed the most likely 3 starters for next year including a stud of a te ... but ill give u an opposite rush end of mathews ...

Well I haven't seen any other Rams fans so dualthreat what do you think about the Rams taking Quinn? Personally I am ECSTATIC that he fell all the way to us! I believe his size and effort will be great. Being both a DE/OLB helps us GREATLY! Can't wait to see him in action. He is a beast of a man. You hoping that Leonard Hankerson or Randall Cobb will be the pick in the 2nd round? I would love to see that!

I'll let the pick defend my statement my OL statement.

As for WR, DD is old and Jones a FA. That is half the group right there, and for a team that wants to go 4 and 5 wide is an area of need. I am not convinced Nelson is a #2 WR.

GB is won the Super Bowl with over a dozen of guys on IR- need is relative. Truthfully, TT is average at improving the team on the first day. He makes up for it in the later rounds and FAs.

I'M JACKED!! I'd be content with a lot of different 2nd round picks. All depends on which position has the best value. WR, RB, S, or DT. A lot of talk about getting the TE from Notre Dame. Only if there is absolutely no one at the previously mentioned 4 positions worthy of the pick would I be ok with drafting a TE in the 2nd round. We took two TE's last year!!

Agreed! I believe with both Long, Hall, and Quinn rushing, its gonna get exciting. I would be THRILLED if maybe Bowers could get to us. But with Hankerson I believe that is a playmaker in the making. But I am hoping that maybe Jordan Todman can get to us in the 3rd.

Todman would be good. Or maybe one of the Big 12 scat backs in the 4th round range. We need safeties and offensive guards bad. I don't know anything about them, other than they're the top ranked safeties, so I'm kind of hoping for Rahim Moore or Aaron Williams. I can't stand another season of watching Craig Dahl act like he knows how to play football.

With the way Spags uses D-Lineman, I think he could work magic with an athletic freak like Allen Bailey too, but we probably should address other areas of the team.

I am content with the Falcons trading every pick (and some next year) for Julio Jones - their offense now may be even more scary than Arizona's was a few years ago. I trust Thomas Dimitrioff's judgment - he only helped build the Patriots' dynasty.

I think it is almost ALWAYS dumb to trade next years first round pick. Especially on a high bust potential position like WR. And one that has hand problems at that. Who is to say Atlanta wouldn't have struck gold with this years first round pick AND next years if they just would have stayed where they were? The draft is a crap shoot and they gave up any hope of getting 2 solid players in hopes that Julio will pan out.

And if the Falcon.win the Super Bowl as a.result?
This is a "win now" league. If Dimitrioff thinks this move puts the Falcons over the top, then it was the right move. You don't build for tomorrow if your window is open now.

And by the way, most not-Falcons fans probably only see Roddy White as a Pro Bowl stud receiver. What they don't know is initially he couldn't catch worth a damn either - yet he turned out okay, now didn't he?

Watch out for the dirtiest D-Line in the league next season! Lions baby!
So true. Link below has some great one-liners.

13. Detroit: Nick Fairley(notes), DT (Auburn)
"Suh and Fairley on the same D-line. That is unfair and I believe illegal in a couple dozen states."
-- NBCSports.com's College Football Talk
"With Suh and Fairley, Lions should lead the league in fines for illegal hits. Which the fans will love"
-- Yahoo! Sports Dan Wetzel
"Jay Cutler just retired."

OL was a definite need. Yeah, we may have only one "old" OLmen (Clifton), but he is a pretty damn important one when trying to protect your most valuable commodity (Rodgers), who had 2 concussions last year. Sherrod will hopefully get at least a year to learn under Clifton and will add some much needed depth in the mean time.
