Franchise Ideas

Doesn't Legends already accomplish that. Not disagreeing with you as I would love a BWW in Ames but not sure if campustown could support both.

Not sure what to recommend as a business but I think that west and north Ames is far under served for options.

I'd be perfectly fine with not having a legends in ames, if there was a BWW.

I'm looking at franchises too, but I'm avoiding restaurants like the plague. Too many of them fail and the ones that do survive do so just barely.

A good friend of mine in the restaurant business once mentioned that you can make a small fortune in the restaurant business. You start with a large fortune...

Tilted Kilt lasted about six months on a VERY busy street in CR.

probably do better in a college town. the CR one was being ran by a first time resturant owner that brought in over weight girls with tattoos all over.

still i would look at cheaper franchises than those!

On a side note, I think in CF it will all be about location. If you could put a tasty taco on the hill it would rock. Although it would be hard for me to choose between TT and Sub City. I guess lunch sub city and dinner at TT.

Girlfriends parents own that Sub City, so eat there!

I want to open a Perkins or similar breakfast restaurant in downtown DSM. I think you could make a killing. Drunk crowd at night, business people in the morning. There really isn't a convenient place to eat breakfast downtown in the morning for bigger groups. Plus there are about 5,000 people standing around at 2am looking for food.

Runza fries are fantastic.

OK, here is what you need to do. Go find the owner of Zoey's in Marion and ask him if he wants to expand to either CF or IC. The BEST pizza around...

The only place that I've tried that topped it was the original Gino's East in Chicago.

Ok, I am interested in investing in a new franchise in the Cedar Falls area and possibly Ames or Iowa City. I am looking for input on smaller franchises that are not established in these cities (mainly restaurants, not the major chains like Buffalo Wild Wings, but something like the size of a Jimmy Johns or Pancheros). So, are there franchises you have frequented that you think would be a good fit? Also, are there mid size towns (20,000+) that would be good for a franchise like Pancheros?

I didn't read the replies, so I'm in agreement with anyone that has recommend Five Guys Burgers, Elevation Burger, or Firehouse Subs
