I saw a post on Facebook that someone in the area has already lost parts of two fingers because held held something too long before he tried to throw it.

Most of these accidents wouldn't even happen if people handled the fireworks responsibly but stupidity, alcohol and gun powder are a bad mix.

Not sure why there is such heavy force. Mounted police every other block also. Armored vehicle blocking bourbon from canal.

The mounted police is a common thing. They were out the couple of times I have been there (not during Mardi Gras).

I think they are to chase people away. All they are doing is crapping all over.

Well that was short lived. We were supposed to go to 4th of July party at a friend of hers today, but said she has feelings for someone else. At least she was upfront and honest about it and didn't give me any kind of false hope and didn't lead me on for 3 months.
