****Official Class Of 2027 Recruiting Thread****

I’ve walked around all 10 courts twice.

Didn’t see any Cyclone staff.

Did see Ohio State’s HC but he’s only two hours away.

We could also have a coaching staff member that we don’t know about. Have we made all our replacement hires?

You can already see the plan coming together for the next two years.

This year = Brought in four upperclassmen transfers with a lot of experience playing college ball to get the team "old" again (alongside senior Buchanan) while handing progressively more responsibility to the guys who were secondary/reserves last year in Toure, Batemon, and Pleta and another wing/forward type in Singleton brought in from NW (not that those guys were not important players last year, but they weren't expected to carry a future #2 seed the same way as Jefferson, Lipsey, and Momcilovic leading the team). Whatever extra you receive from the freshmen is great but you're not dependent on them like you were last year – a big reason last year worked out as well as it did was those three being ready to play minutes in the Big 12 early.

Next year = Lose a few old guys, but the rising junior class is VERY ready to take over (including giving some time to Singleton to develop in Ames) alongside Buchanan and supplemented with JJ and whatever the rising sophomores give you. Then mix in the "class of destiny" incoming with three 97%+ guys. I would hope they're the level of guys ready to make an immediate impact as freshmen even in this conference.

And then you get seniors Toure, Batemon, Singleton, and Pleta together with sophomores Harrington, Kohnen, and Davis and whatever else on the roster fills in the roles around them... eek.

Gonna be fun. We're set up to be very competitive for a while. I know things will change over the next 24 months, but TJ and staff have proven they can roll with whatever is coming for them.

You're at #59 in latest Mock Draft. MM still only at #39
Fellow returner Yessoufou, Bidunga and Tugler are all behind Milan. This guy obviously doesn't think returning for another year necessarily improves draft stock.

And keep in mind the new "5 for 5" rule means current seniors would be eligible for the 27-28 school year, provided they still meet criteria. I don't know how many of the 26-27 seniors would be eligible for 27-28 under the new rule

Guessing Wiscy found some money for him. Also, Nobody wants to go to Minnesota if they don't have to go to Minnesota. Their arena is a complete crap hole and is not fun to watch a game at that place.
And if you didn't hear, Minnesota's arena is no longer Williams Arena. It is now officially "The Barn by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota"

Very big for ISU and a guy like Buchanan. We get 2 years of him and dont have to shop in the portal which we know the center position is very hit or miss and can be expensive

Assuming somebody doesn't back the truck up and poach Buchanan.

That said, I'm sure they're compensating him fairly and reports are he loves it in Ames.

Hopefully that's enough for him to come back as a supersenior.

His girlfriend (From all reports they are together) is on the womens team and is one of the ones who did not transfer. IS she a Junior or Senior? That could help us also

The only three women back are AJ, Paulk, and Jensen.

One of those three then?

I think all three would have at least two more years (same as Buchanan) and more for Jensen.
