The toasted subs are relatively new for them (last year or two?). It used to be only cold subs.

I got food poisoning from the Indianola JJ's last year and haven't been able to bring myself to eat at one since.

Depends on what type of sub. I'm a big fan of meatball subs, which are better toasted. At Jimmy John's I get salami, which is better cold.

I used to eat Subway a lot because the kids love it, but it messed up my stomach the last few times. If you do go to Subway and get a toasted sub, I recommend toasting it for only 10 seconds. That will melt the cheese and your bread will not be crunchy.
 
I've continued to vote for Arby's, partly based on its bracket matchup path.

I don't eat there frequently, but through the years, at various locations, I've found it reliable and consistent, if nothing else. It also specializes in a sandwich type that isn't "burger," so when I'm in that mood/mode, it fits the bill.

Also, I'm not a big fry/curly fry fanatic anymore, sometimes I don't even bother, but Arby's curly fries I find worth indulging.

And Wendy's new/updated spicy chicken is ******* amazing. If you ask Wendy's to make everything 'out of the fryer/fresh' they do it and it rivals any other place on this contest.

I'm polar opposite. I like them to put the bacon in by itself first. Then do the whole sandwich with the bacon.

This gets the bacon crisp-ish and you get that nice crunchy edge on the bread.

My older son gets a turkey sub with bacon and gets just the bacon toasted. What's weird is that if you don't ask them to toast the bacon they will just put it on the sandwich cold.

I think in the past couple years they started toasting their subs. But for a long time, it was just cold subs.
