Milan Momcilovic withdraws from the 2026 NBA Draft

It's funny you mention that because that isn't me. I could make a lot more money being a partner at a CPA firm than I do working for myself. But working for myself allows me the flexibility I want. Also, I could make more money working for myself if I charged "market rates" for my services, but I can't justify those rates. For example if a tax return takes me 30 minutes I can't justify charging $300 for it like most others would.

There are many more important things than chasing $$$.

What would you quote for remodeling a guest bathroom? Asking for a friend tired of getting gouged by shady contractors.

How can you not be romantic about baseball Milan Momcilovic
Funny you should say that. I love baseball outside the MLB. Additionally, when I was in college I fell for a cheerleader of the Cyclone baseball team. I swear there were baseball cheerleaders then unless I dreamt this all up. My unrequited baseball girl from Brooklyn, Iowa still stirs that romantic feel of my college days.

I mean he is right in that aspect though.

I find it perfectly understandable that Milan left, but I'm also not going to cheer for him anywhere else. I cheer for Iowa State. If a player transfers, for whatever reason, most fans are not going to continue being a fan of them, and it's honestly weird that some people seem to think that should change because they are now getting paid to transfer
Nobody is saying we have to cheer for them once they leave but some of the thing's being said about Milan and to a greater degree Audi are a little harsh. I won't openly cheer for them, but I also don't wish them any ill will.

The number of thin skinned Iowa State fans that refuse to adapt to the new landscape of college athletics is hilarious. Nobody is saying you have to love it but please stop sh!tting on players like Milan and Audi for taking advantage of a huge opportunity. This is literally happening EVERYWHERE.
Milan gave his all and is not coming back to Iowa State due to certain circumstances he can’t control. Audi and the women’s team visibly gave up and were checked out the moment they hit some adversity.

How does the romantic metaphor work if you're working for yourself??? ;-)

I know Iowa State has been a great program for a while now, but it's wild seeing a 'blue blood' talk about former Cyclones like this - even if ISU did beat their a** in the tournament.

LOL and right on cue @isufbcurt hits the dumb button...
Maybe you are the one being rigid here?

Your logic is that we should all just be honky dory with college athletes chasing a bag?

The truth is everyone understands why athletes are chasing the money. But it doesn't mean we have to like it. If Milan was my kid, I would probably tell him to go for a $7 million check, loyalty be damned. However, I would also tell him to understand taking the bag probably greatly tarnishes if not erases his ISU legacy. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too.

Not true - there is an open roster spot on the men's team at this exact moment. The staff had to allot most of the NIL money already due to timing, but Milan absolutely COULD come back at this point. But he is now choosing to take the money instead.
