K-State Podcaster Says Ames is Worst Road trip in Big 12!

He hates coming to Ames because it’s cold. What got me is that he loves Morgantown but he doesn’t like Lubbock and Stillwater because it’s hard to get there. Morgantown is hard to get to as well though it is much more scenic.

Tim Fitzgerald says Ames is the worst road trip in the Big XII.

Morgantown!? My son went there for a few years post grad and I spent too much time there. Weird place, odd layout to adjust for terrain, but it is the best city W.V. has to offer. And it can get cold there, too. Nice sencery from afar, but get up-close and there are problems, with delipidated buildings, junk cars, and poverty. Ames is not perfect but as far as the woest...come on.

Ok, I thought I was going to hate this, but I didn't. Guy's a little bit funny. I get it. Ames is cold late in the season. But, so are a bunch of other locations. But, didn't hate it.
Tim is an engaging guy. He had a pod a while back in which he proposed that Tang-Gate was the beginning of the end of k-state BB.

If there's one place in the Big 12 that's definitely both warm and easy to get to, it's Manhattan, Kansas.

I went with the assumption that all other teams would’ve picked Manhattan to be the worst. It’s just home for them so didn’t fit his criteria.

I agree with 1 thing, his take on Colorado fans. The guy next to me at the game in Boulder last year was great to talk ball with, the rest around me were pompous d bags.

Not that it matters what these people think but having Cytown adjacent to the stadium will be nice in that it'll be a place for fans who don't tailgate to gather before and after games. Especially visitors, will make a decent impression I'm sure to have a place right there to eat and drink around the game.

As a visitor at an OU game it was nice having bars and restaurants within walking distance of the stadium. Park your car and you know you're good for the next few hours.
Was the only good thing about that place lol.

I would 2nd West Virginia, great place to take in an ISU game. Hard to fly into, have to go to Pittsburgh and then drive down or car pool it out like we did, but its not a bad one day drive. Early fall game when the trees are turning its something to see. Fans were great to tailgate with, could not believe we had driven from Iowa, the way they talked it might has well been the west coast.

I went to Morgantown for the 2024 game. It thought it was a bonus to have to go to Pittsburgh. I had a great time in both Pittsburgh and Morgantown. If any of you guys go out next time, I highly advise going a riverboat tour in Pittsburgh.

Drove to the OU game in 2017. Was planning on starting the journey back to Iowa immediately after the game. However, a last minute game winning touchdown pass from Kyle Kempt to Allen Lazard changed those plans and I ended up spending the night in Norman and sampling those bars and restaurants you mentioned.

The beer and the food never tasted better in my life!
