Earnings are out and we are near the bottom again. Once full shares for new members are given we will likely be at the bottom with KSU. Also of note is we had zero growth year over year. What do we need to do to keep up, and what are places like Cincinnati doing?

Iowa States number is false he used the wrong number.

Here’s the actual 2025 numbers

Questions - does this include money given by state governments to the ADs? If so, both arizona schools received approximately $30 million each to wipe out their deficits.

Are there any fundraising numbers, outside of normal, annual renewals in these totals. KU received large donations from Booth - $300 million paid over 8-10 years??

This list is irrelevant, as a comparison tool on an annual basis, if state monies or large, one-time gifts are included.

These numbers usually include gifts for things like renovations or upgrades. Any money Kansas got to redo their football stadium will be in there.

Iowa "borrowed" money from the general fund. Let's just do that. We just need to make sure we get on the same indefinite payment plan like Iowa.
Borrowed from their foundation actually.

And yes, where do you think ISU was going to come up with the 20MM dollar gap for the next few years?

The 50 million they borrowed was not from the foundation.

Regardless of the accuracy of the chart, I have full faith in our new university president will move us up the list and fairly quickly!

His last school was a masters class in how to fundraise for athletics when you don’t really have much to work with.
meh, they had the oil money to work with. But I agree I think he is going to be aggressive on the fundraising front for both the school and the sports.

It's not "false." There are two different reports (EADA and MFRS). Each apparently has some different calculations.

He used the EADA, and stated that he used EADA.

Does Iowa actually pay back money that they "borrow"? I always thought of it as Taking money and hoping nobody asks to have it paid back. They do have lawsuits to pay, you know.

North Dakota State is incredibly easy to fundraise to. It's the state flagship school, it's had a forever relationship with Farm Bureau, the city owns their stadium, a single incredibly wealthy donor built their hockey and basketball facilities, the Scheel family pumps money in like crazy and that fan base is more than willing to find money when they have to. Oh and oil.

I think Cook is great and he presents a vision really well but just because NDSU spent all those years in D2 and the FCS doesn't mean it's a tough place to find money.

I believe it includes university support, US Today's numbers mirror these and they show the breakdown of where the funds come from and it has how much each university is pitching in.

The only way this is going to change for ISU is if 1. A major booster steps forward and starts pumping some serious money into the athletic department or 2. If the university or state decides to do the same, which is never going to happen.

I would have liked to seen the legislature put a tax on online betting with the proceeds being used to fund the 20 million at all 3 state universities. Any excess being directed into the general fund.
