If he loses 5 in a row like he did last season at ISU, he won't last three years. They gave Franklin 12 seasons, three of which they were 7-6, there is no reason that PSU will give Campbell any less than a decade unless he completely bombs and he is too good a coach for that to happen.
Different era. CMC will have a shorter leash in my opinionThey gave Franklin 12 seasons, three of which they were 7-6, there is no reason that PSU will give Campbell any less than a decade unless he completely bombs and he is too good a coach for that to happen.
Campbell is also going to lose to the Northwesterns and Purdues more than Franklin did.The article stated Franklin was 1-18 verses top 10 schools while at PSU, that is a pretty low bar to get over for Campbell. My question is he going to be more willing to open up the playbook now that his team is going to be more talented in most of their games then the opponent. Be more like Cignetti and just put the wood to some teams.
He doesn’t have Heacock anymore which was his teams entire identity. They gave Franklin 12 seasons, three of which they were 7-6, there is no reason that PSU will give Campbell any less than a decade unless he completely bombs and he is too good a coach for that to happen.
Same with any upper P2Different era. CMC will have a shorter leash in my opinion
you mean 2 coaches majors and chizekWe already had one coach leave and win a Natty. Why not 2?
I like the attitude but it doesn’t do much for us. I personally hope Matt falls flat on his face. I had gotten over this until the thread resurfaced and I got mad all over again. Not that he left and took our guys it’s how everything has been handled after the fact. Making us sound like everyone was doing us a favor by being there, like we weren’t funding their checks this entire time. Just my opinion and I know it isn’t very popular. We already had one coach leave and win a Natty. Why not 2?
I haven’t paid attention, but even if he has been profuse in praise, I hope the ex players excel but they disastrous coaching blunders results in mediocre resultsI like the attitude but it doesn’t do much for us. Yah for as controlling as he was in most every aspect of the program ... he screwed the pooch for special teams. Just flat out messed it up. He will never admit that. We lost at least 2 games to the Fawks because of his not caring. Who knows how many others. Remember that punter from Australia he was spell bound by. What a joke.I hope he coaches special teams at his new job. If I remember correctly, he covered special teams during his time here.

I mean when you are sloppy second ... you are sloppy second. That's Matt at pedifile U.Exactly. If PSU doesn’t make the playoff 3 out of the first 5 years, he will be firmly on the hot seat. It’s so stacked for Big 10/SEC none of those coaches will make it long if the don’t make the Playoff every few years, unless your name is Ferentz

Yeah, that's not unique to Penn State. All of the big jobs are like that. High expectations are par for the course. Nobody takes one of those jobs without knowing that they need to deliver. We're not that far out from ISU fans telling Matt that he was on the hot seat. I'm sure his eyes are wide open when it comes to expectations, as are anyone's who accepts a head coach job at the power levelLol
Being on the hot seat after 5 years!
Welcome to coaching at a top program.
The USC offer was a done deal if the assistants would have left with him, but they balked!Wasn’t that the year he was supposedly going to USC.
