Lots of schools would love to have someone with his recruiting record. Most of us don’t know his role coaching the team, but obviously the last name alone generates dislike.

Anyone else get the feeling like when they replace certain cast members on a popular tv show and then the ratings start to tank, the show gets moved to some weird night, and then is cancelled altogether?
That makes sense- he has been a decent recruiter, but I don’t think he has much to do with the in game X’s and O’s, but I admit I could be wrong.
For me, it’s not so much dislike as it is fatigue. We had three of the top players in the portal last year, and that core for the last couple of years. What do we have to show for it? Not much. Bill’s been here for 31 years and I, and I think a lot of the fan base appreciate everything he’s done, but it’s time for a change.
Would be odd if she wasn't being considered the next head coach. She left Auburn to come here for 1 Year? Doesn't make much sense.
Billy will be fine. He and Lindsey have plenty of other business ventures.
I'm surprised nobody has questioned Caroline's resume. If JP just straight-up hired her today, would people be happy? Hopefully, Carper and Emily stick around with Caroline next year.

Absolutely not, at a minimum we can hire someone who is at least successful at a lower level. She has a successful run at the end with Stony Brook, but at GW she had a .46 W-L%.

Spoiler alert: I admit that I didn't listen to the entire program. It's not CW quality imo, but you have to admit with a name like Korn, that has some potential marketing in Iowa..
She has the resume you would expect for an associate head coach. Lots of experience coaching in D1 and was successful building a program at Stony Brook. Then it didn't go well, not horribly but not good, when she moved up a level to take over George Washington who's program was on a downward trajectory.
Honestly, she is a better addition than I would expect Bill to be able to bring in with only one year left on his contract. But with long time assistants leaving/retiring I'm sure there is the budget to offer a good assistant salary and I don't think she had the title of associate head coach at Auburn (feels like she jumped there after her tenure at GW ended and the new hire at Auburn was building a staff).
People assuming she is the "head coach in waiting" is a pretty big leap. Usually in those situations it is announced long before they become head coach, like Alan Huss at Creighton. Alan Huss Sure, I'd bet in her mind she sees an opportunity if they can be successful the next year or two and Bill retires. But its likely much more that, an opportunity she sees, than her being brought in from the AD level to be the next head coach.

I did like the part where they said she had a good defense which is what we lacked last season.
If your insinuation is that Billy was the head coach in waiting, that is not accurate. He was told by the athletic department quite awhile ago that he would need head coaching experience to be considered for the job and has applied for but not gotten head coaching positions since then.
What? I said Billy is leaving the program and Caroline is the coach in waiting. I never even said Billy wanted to coach. I said he and Lindsey have plenty of other business ventures. When Billy announces he is leaving the program, people can finally get it out of their head that Bill is trying to backdoor Billy in and realize why Caroline is here.
Then I understand your comment even less. Billy leaving the program (if it does happen) will have no bearing on Caroline being a coach in waiting. There hasn't been a coach in waiting (as you correctly state) and McCombs wasn't brought in to be one either from every indication I've gotten. Now she is clearly the top assistant and has head coaching experience so if things are going well when Bill retires I'm sure she will get a look. But this appears far from a coach in waiting situation.
Our offense is almost guaranteed to be statically worse than last season, so we will need a salty defense to compensate.
