Perfect addition. A guy that can go either 184/197. Hope we ain’t done yet tonight!

This was the most obvious one with the connection to Chris Perry. Let’s hope the staff can work their magic with this kid and get him back on track. He has a lot of potential if he’s locked in
How does it come together at the upper weights? Where do you think Thompson ends up? He is better sized for 184, but 197 is a shallower weight.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they were going hunting for a 157 and 165 as well. There may still be late portal entries especially after the U.S. Open next week.
184 won’t just be given to an unproven guy with injury history (Bartelt). 197 is the probably not settled either. Thompson is a great start for both weights, though.
If I recall, the philosophy has been, if we don’t have a potential top eight guy on the roster, they’re going to try to get one.

Metcalf made statement that really makes sense. Paraphrasing…Most AA transfers leave for money as they already accomplished their goal of being an AA. He doesn’t want those guys he wants guys transferring that believe they can be National Champs.
I would be shocked if they take more than 2-3 more guys (unless they bring in multiple guys at 125 for depth). I don’t see anyone in the portal at 157/165 that Metcalf would want. I love the freshman Shapiro but he hasn’t been close to that since.
One name I haven’t seen mentioned that should get a serious look is Sakamoto. I’m not saying he is better than what we have but looked impressive a couple years ago for a new folkstyle wrestler.

Dresser’s not a coach anymore, so he may be out recruiting and coaxing into the portal
If Provo is staying at Stanford, getting Perryman or Castillo back is probably the best option at 125. I don't think Castillo would be open to that, but Perryman might be
If Garvin is staying at Stanford, then I roll with Euton and Riggins at 165.
I would be alright looking at Rin Sakomoto at 133. Multiple years and a stud freestyler. Not sure if it creates conflicts with Reneri

Is this even possible? Was under the impression these guys were staying at Stanford but admittedly haven’t been following.
Thompson is a good addition. How good…who knows…but good. We are better with him.
Why do you are about a guy who’s going to be at (most likely) Michigan or (maybe) Iowa? Do you know him or something?
No and I do think he ends up at Michigan. If Iowa gets Ech and Block moves to 157, Zepeda going to sit or beat out Block (Which he could do).
I don't want the attitude that he is to good and won't come to Iowa State. He just doesn't fit this year, even though I think he could be the starter

Iowa won’t get both him and Ech. I suspect they end up with neither. Just guessing.
Also the Stanford wrestlers should be thanking the alleged poacher, because that is what forced Stanford to give them NIL MONEY
I’ve seen the rumblings but have only seen anything public from Tyler Knox personally, that he was staying at Stanford.
