Wrestling Press Conference Scheduled for Tomorrow

I'm not trying to suggest they shouldn't have to answer more questions about gymnastics, but during a press conference with several major announcements it just doesn't seem like the right time to get real in depth. Maybe I'm wrong.
While I understand what you are saying....the problem is, they havent made themselves public to answer any questions. Just sat in a room and recorded by themselves.

OK, I've never heard Alli before.
She is IMPRESSIVE. Looked the reporters directly in the eyes. She is a born leader.
She’s the perfect hire. Every interaction/observation I’ve had with her has been so consistent and human. I think she’ll be an incredible recruiter.

Always put together and in control, but has that wrestler eye twitch ready to beat the s*** out of anyone.

Just curious since I am a wrestling moron. Do they make the women drop weight like the men? Is it as drastic as the mens cuts? I know women have a harder time dropping weight like that and it messes with them a lot more than men.

Is hiring super young coaches like Cael (ISU tenure), Taylor at OkSt, etc a Wrestling "thing" or are those just one-offs that make it seem that way because it's a handful of programs I vaguely pay attention to?
Wrestling has evolved heavily in the last decade or two. So it makes sense to have a younger guys or ladies who will understand that a little better.

Just to piggy back off of this for casual wrestling fans, this would be the equivalent of Georges Niang becoming the Iowa Hawkeye Men's basketball coach with his kids growing up Hawkeye fans.
I agree with you but now that that point has been made, I’d be fine if no one ever typed that sentence ever ******* again.

No one is “made” to cut weight. You can go in at walk around weight but there is a good chance someone who cut themselves down to a low body fat will be able to horse you around.

also imho you have to be a little-bit off center with mental-grudges to be a really good wrestler, having the joy of food in your life is gonna give your opponent a mental edge.

No, you have to have good discipline and self determined. Also self reliant. It’s just you and another wrestler on the mat, no team to help you out when competing. So it leads to a bit of arrogance in the good ones.

Weight cutting and management is tough for both genders. It all comes down to the mental discipline.

I used to compete in Men's Physique competitions (did my last show at age 51). At these shows there are Men's and Women's divisions. Preparing yourself to hit the stage looking your best, is grueling. I always felt sorry for the ladies to get show ready, because I knew it was tougher for them. The dieting is crazy hard, and I have 1000% respect for them getting out there and doing it.

Just curious, what was Ali's role prior to this? I heard Jamie mention her 'rock star' status in the CWC (I think) and she spoke of him 'hiring' her 3 years ago. Just wasn't aware she had an official role within the dept before.

I'm now off to find some videos of her old matches...
