WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

Jennie and OU are killing the portal. Picked up Parks from KU and Spieser from KSU.

Very envious. Meanwhile, we are picking up players who played sparingly and can score sparingly. Wooohooooo.

I know most are tired of hearing it but OU has a HUGE Rev Share / NIL Budget. Last year they signed Chavez, the top high school player in the country, for reportedly +/- $1 million. I am sure they are using those dollars in the portal since they freed up the $$ they were spending on Beers, who was one of the top portal players two years ago,

I wish Jennie wanted to come home… and, yes, I know we can’t compete.

Here we go... Get on it, Billy, Inc. Make it happen!!! She may need to practice free throws...(Although her career average is 74%)

O'Neal shot 53% from the field including 38% from three (37 for 97)
Better yet, she averaged 6.4 rebounds and had a player efficiency rating of 31 in just 26 minutes a game.

She doesn't need the $$....;)

No chance - we got AJ, EP, FJ, MC, MB and now GE. I estimate like 30 points a night collectively! Mercy rule coming.

From the OU message board:

I was surprised OU didn't get an impact transfer this offseason. Other than Chavez who OU supposedly spent $1.5 million NIL on from Jordan Brand and Trae Young, they brought in no impact freshman. I get the feeling OU spent all their NIL on Chavez. Will they have more NIL with Beers and Verhulst moving on? Maybe. But, I think OU's NIL on the women's side is prioritized for softball and gymnastics and I think hoops is third.

Plus Chavez is the reason for the exodus of the other players. When your backcourt running mate demands the ball before, during, and planning for the next possession every time, I'd hit the road too.

This year’s motto can be “Beggars Can’t Be Choosers”. Print the posters.

I can't find the post, but someone mentioned here that OSU and OU had a reality check moment where the women's programs were told they would need to cut back on rev share/ NIL spending.

I’m wondering what percent generally, and on our team, this is the cause for transfers? Makes more sense to me than coaching or locker room explanations.

Chavez got $1.5 million in NIL + a Nike shoe deal. It wouldn't surprise me if she wanted more money for 26-27 after being their leading scorer in 25-26.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I've felt like the roster construction the last few years has been really good. I think the staff has done an admirable job at putting talent on the roster, and I'm guessing they will do a decent job at it this off-season as well.

What concerns me is that as far back as the Ashley Joens years, I don't think any group has maximized their potential, and the schematic issues that are obvious to even casual fans never seem to get addressed. Not sure many players have really progressed that much in their years as cyclones either.

Regardless of sport, fans pretending they know anything about “schematics” is amusing.

I'm trying to envision a scenario where this isn't already the case everywhere. Unless you have donors that specifically allocate funds to womens' sports, every AD is facing the same financial conundrum.

You can only assign so much money to something that doesn't return your investment before the money runs out.

FOX Sports has her at estimated NIL valuation: about $138,00 recently.
