**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Many of us secretly hoped for Allen Graves from Santa Clara as the next Joshua Jefferson. The good news is he is now in the portal. The bad news is he is likely in the top 5 portal guys and projects out at $3 million.

They thought they were getting the Johnson kid from Colorado. He just signed with Texas.
Good! I honestly think kids will realize that Ben’s a freaking lunatic and doesn’t look to be very fun to play for. They will also realize that hawk fans publicly shaming and saying they don’t need a player after an Elite 8 run just because he had a bad game against Illinois is very telling. I guess we will see, but I’m happy they missed out on the Colorado kid.

Is there a player coming to ISU that had played on a tournament team with Toure? I was thinking I heard earlier in the year that there is some stud player from France that was coming to ISU to reunite with Toure again??? Does anyone know anything about this?

They will likely get a solid piece or two eventually. Hassel said on 2 guys this week, that Iowa should have more money to pay their players than Iowa State for basically the first time in this era.

Yeah, I’m sure they will get a couple. I see they are going after a Washington state pg that put up good numbers as a freshman and that St Marys center. I guess my main point is that teams now won’t have to solely base their defense on just Stirtz anymore. It’ll be interesting.

I agree on interesting. It's easy to think they'll be worse, but then in the same thought process remember that they were only 21-12 prior to the elite 8 run

Interesting for sure. I’d assume that Diop leaving ASU lends towards the St Marys center following his coach there. I think there are other programs going after that PG fro Wazzu so I’d assume it’s a reasonable possibility they (Iowa burner accounts) don’t get anyone they’ve tweeted about getting lol.

I'm really curious to see how the portal season plays out for Ben. Their women's program, despite all of its success over the last 5-10 years has struggled to be a big draw for transfers as well. Seems there is something in the air hovering over Iowa City that a lot of kids don't like. Easy to make a few educated guesses as an Iowa State fan.

Yeah I hear ya. With one top 25 win all season and bounced by a not so great Ohio state team in the Big 10 tourney. Iowa bball just like football, feasts on the lower half of the big 10 teams. They got fortunate to play Clemson and Nebraska. Had a hech of an upset against a sleepy Florida team. I hope after the portal is all said and done the hawk fans are wondering “why on earth did we let Alvaro go” . It would definitely make my day.

Yeah Sqwauk fans are letting this Elite 8 thing go to their head. The dude exceeded my expectations and was huge for them throughout the year. You can’t find crafty bigs that have decent handles, shoots the threes, good around the basket and hits free throws. Like I’ve said many times, we will see how Benny does without Stirtz saving him for the last 4 years. Right now a lineup of PG (maybe banks?) Combs, sage, Koch and Cam looks pretty brutal…. Oh well, Hawk fans could come back down to realization very quickly next year.
I'm guessing they're having to pay up big for Koch and Sage, and probably a decent amount to Manyawu.

Also seemed like he was under the impression that we had the same amount this year as last, which isn't true
