Boy the hits just keep coming for the AD.
 
It’s the athletic department Why does that matter? They are a free standing entity that doesn’t take in tax dollars.
They are still a public entity and are subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Being in a public entity, it's extremely weird they are that freaking slow at responding to requests, and even more odd that they are withholding what's seems to be pretty simple information. I laughed at them citing redactions in the contract as trade secrets.
 
Because they are part of the university and therefore under the state's open records law. The athletic department being self funding does not matter.
My point is as a self funded entity why does an organization waste time seeking records for the transaction when again no public funding was used on the trip? What’s their purpose?

Because some people have an agenda and are looking for something to ***** about. By law the university is required to already release the records, but that has not occurred. The governor has been playing games about releasing required public records the past few years.
If there is nothing there, its not a big deal, but if some people got a free trip out of it, then its good to be asking questions of why?
