I wouldn't count on Williams being a Cyclone next year
So we paid a kid to come stop over and get surgery and then leave? Sounds like modern College athletics in a nutshell

After seeing him play at ISU, I could never figure out how he was a 5 star. Really good athlete, but not an elite athlete, and had limited skills. He looked like a high 3 star player only because of his athletic ability. His skill set was lower three star and his career has proven that.
And to your point, Maybe developing Batemon to be that guy is the answer. Point being, Tamin and Nate got a ton of open looks due to Milan and Jeff attracting so much attention, we just can't have another season of open looks resulting in 30% from two guys. That's really what I'm getting at.I agree in general, but your stat is a pretty small pool of players.
45 people did that last season, and 20 were seniors + Milan. Down to 24 possibilities, before eliminating any players not portaling or going NBA
We definitely need a forum thread titled "Jamarion Batemon."This is the transfer portal thread, don't be giving folks heart attacks scrolling through!![]()
With or without a cane?I am declaring for the portal! Anybody need an oldster(72)?![]()
I think Milan's season is going to skew our view of good shooting numbers for a while ha. I would say anything above 38% with good volume is considered a "shooter" in today's game. If we could add that to go along with Milan and Batemon I think we'd be in a good spot from an outside shooting perspective.I agree in general, but your stat is a pretty small pool of players.

What we really need is a few days to see what our roster actually is. Then we can project how each player is supposed to improve to fill our wants, discuss the team's shortcomings, the coaching staff's failures, and the doom and gloom of our program. All while achieving a preseason top 25 ranking and the eventual "see, I told you so's" while bickering back and forth during another successful season. That's what we do bestWe definitely need a forum thread titled "Jamarion Batemon."
I agree. Was mentioned in @MyNameEhJeff post above. While he might be on the shorter side (5’10”/5’11”), he’s also 200#. Kid is a rock, good with the ball (3:1 A/TO ratio) and a really, really good on ball defender. You guys would fall in love with Bully Johnson.
Kid plays so damn hard.
Well, If you don't believe his geography lesson, just ask Justin Hamilton!Hmm, I never knew Cedar Falls was closer to Waukee than Ames. Learn something every day.
Unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time for ISU.So we paid a kid to come stop over and get surgery and then leave? Sounds like modern College athletics in a nutshell
The 40%+ from three is a high standard, as there is typically only ~100 players that hit that amount if you use the minimum standard of 2.5 makes per game.If Milan comes back, he's going to be face guarded the entire season. We need to have another reliable 3pt threat to counter that and by threat I mean someone who shoots better than 30-32% from three. Maybe that's Batemon, maybe that's Williams, I don't know. But I wouldn't mind targeting someone who can get us 40%+ from 5+ attempts per game.
If he’s leaving, and there is smoke, it seems like a mutually beneficial thing. Don’t know that there’s a significant market for guys that haven’t played in a year.So we paid a kid to come stop over and get surgery and then leave? Sounds like modern College athletics in a nutshell
I also thought the portal oversight group came out a couple weeks ago and said they were going to be aggressive in pursuing tampering.Players aren't 'connected' anywhere yet publicly because the portal isn't open yet. I'm guessing we're connected with several guys behind the scenes.
yeah jury is very much out on Hendo too.He had a good weekend in StL.
All Valley guys plus the league's leading scorer in Quinn don't lose 10 in a row.
