That lineup would be pretty similar to this past season, which is good, but also doesn't really address the rebounding issues they ran into against big elite teams.
Yep. Look at the teams that got to the F4. There’s real beef and height inside. One guy can’t do that by himself.

He is, but probably wants playing time he senior year.

Totally understand the desire to play. These guys make a huge time commitment, so more playing time as a senior would be icing on a great college experience.

So that financially opens up another scholarship.

Oh no, it's been completely unsustainable the entire time. It just took longer than expected to finally crack.

And then we added an additional $20.5M of unfunded spend out of nowhere on top of the existing issues.
Am I slow or are you two basically saying the same thing?

Maybe Drake?
I don’t know. It is still unclear what exactly Hendo wants his team to be. Cade would be better off at UNI given Green probably knows what he wants. I would love to see him in the blue and white though.

Can definitely see that. They made so much money without having to pay the players for so long that there’s no putting the toothpaste back in the tube in terms of yearly budget to cover the new $20 mil. I just think they got really fat and can’t go back. I’ve always thought if the players had started to be paid in the 90s it would have been more reasonable and grown more slowly so universities could budget for it better today.

No. The minute you open the door of letting donors pay players, it was always going to get out of hand. That’s because rich donors can’t control themselves. If they started paying players in the 90s, it would have spiraled out of control just as quickly.

I honestly think that players shouldn’t be getting paid at all above scholarship room and board, but if they have to be paid, it would be much more sustainable if they each got a flat $50k. Make them employees, collective bargaining, etc. I think it is ridiculous that any college athlete is making $1M+. If you don’t like it, go to semi pro.

They were getting paid. At least some. And they received free school. The money issues for basketball and football are caused by spending, not revenue
