How do you approach recruiting at this point?

Recruiting approach itself is fairly simple. We can almost guarantee this is the pool:

1) Seniors who want PT for a P5 program in front of a large fan base before they're done playing basketball.

2) Underclassmen looking for a stepping stone to transfer to a bigger school the next season. No talented underclassmen will commit the rest of their CBB careers to a program who will experience a coaching change the following year.

3) Underclassmen from the midwest (Iowa) want to play for a P5 program in front of a large fan base. Low talent and benchwarmers most years, but due to desperation, likely getting decent PT next year.

I find it interesting they wanted Jensen back she would have been one I assumed they told to leave. They must have seen something or knew they just needed bodies lol.

I haven’t watched ISU long enough to even know what we did before the star focused offenses of Carlton, Joens, and Crooks. What was that like? Hopefully we don’t try to force a star that isn’t there.

Personally, I’d like to turn get high effort players and try a high intensity defense. I’m very tired of appearing so slow.
If you go way back we lived and died by the three and a pretty decent zone defense (If I'm remembering right ), then we had more of a standard 3 guards 2 bigs rotation for a while the last decade has been the 1 star and 4 others on the floor system.

Bill's successful years were the early yrs, but then the game changed to being more physical and that system didn't seem to work as well then.

Well, if we are really doing Cool Runnings 2, we would need track stars and just run everyone out of the gym. Non stop sprinting up and down the court with generous substituting. That would be interesting.
Does Grinnell MBB still play that style? For a few yrs they got a fair amount of press for that.

Yes, slightly modified when the son took over for the Dad. I went to a game out of curiosity a couple of years ago. Of course, that was a game they were off and other team countered with slow pace so final score was in the 80's, not 120's.

Regardless of one’s opinions on the current administration, I think we can all unite in agreement that this EO won’t last longer than the first court challenge.
Agree. The fact it was announced late Friday tells me it was a hollow gesture.

Just hope the upcoming legal scrutiny causes Congress, Conferences or NCAA to implement needed changes.

I don’t mean to be rude here but Jensen played less than 100 minutes in an injury plagued season. Doesn’t exactly move the needle.
I'm not saying she's the next Naz Long, but he played around 100 minutes his freshman year & then ended up being a huge player for us. Of course that was with Fred's coaching vs Bill Fennelly's so not exactly the same. But, it's possible she could surprise us.
