WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

So it was all quiet on the portal front today?
Other than Audi everyone has stated their intentions, but the portal doesn’t actually open until the championship game is over.

What is your point here? Did we fail at recruiting D1 quality players? Did players just not develop at ISU? Or are you saying good players don’t leave our program? I don’t think significant roster turnover is good at any program. I think it likely points to some issue within the program, regardless why they are leaving.
What is your point? I can right now without doing any research (so there is plenty more teams) that have lost multiple players to the Portal. Arizona State and Okie State each only have 2 players left, less than us. Tennessee, Iowa, and Indiaba all have 4 or more players leaving. Minnesota and LSU have had starters leave. It is every bit as much the portal and NIL as it is you abd your coach not getting along. To think the portal and NIL are not a big factor in what is happening in Women's Basketball is naive. Yes, CBF has to be an issue, but with free transfers and money it is easy to leave.

The players leaving Iowa State aren’t leaving to chase NIL. They are leaving because our teams have underachieved the last two years and they don’t see that changing. The situations at other schools may be different, but it doesn’t really matter because it doesn’t apply to our situation.

Why does it not apply. All those schools I listed except Indiana were in the NCAA tourney, some also underachieved so why does ISU only have a problem. Yes without a doubt most of the girls that left ISU are chasing the money. You do realize that to recruit players now you talk to their agent, Lawyer or handler first. Before they leave their visit they will go over the financial offer to come play. Most have zero clue how this is done, coaches no longer recruit just the player, they also have to recruit the agent and handlers. All these young ladies leaving schools very much has to do with chasing the money.

Not all of the WBB players transferring out are doing it to solely chase the money. PT and the relationship with the staff also factor in.

And this isn't applicable to only ISU,

To some extent I agree. But you now have to recruit the agent and the player. They pretty much all have an agent in this NIL era.

Are you sure some didn't leave for money? Do you have inside information?

Rev Share & NIL are definitely a reason and since players have agents whose motivation is money....

Add the portal, why be 2nd string when a player can start elsewhere and not sit-out?

And then there are all the old school reasons:
  • Grad Transfer/New Academic Experience
  • Homesick
  • Didn't Like Ames
  • Coach Pushes Them Out
  • Player Doesn't Like Coach
If I had to bet, we lost WBB players for a handful of the above reasons.

If you don’t think any of the players who played last year aren’t asking for the bag right now lol

When I went to Vegas to watch the men play in November, I was shocked at the number of staff members Baylor had there. Not only the coaches on the bench, but an entire row of 8-10 seats for more staffers.
Did you all see Iowa’s bench. It was ridiculous with coaches.

Thanks for the dumb Bozclone, nothing I said was dumb or wrong but you dumbing it tells me all I need to know.
Much of it was irrelevant to the situation at Iowa State. Unfortunately, we have a coach and his staff that are struggling. Players have left to find better situations. Oh, and maybe check your facts about Arizona State and the transfer portal. That program has a coach and a team on the rise.

Yes you are correct on Arizona St, it is Arizona losing alot if players. Wrong program stated I stand corrected.

Players have left and may find better situations, may not also. That is happening all over College Basketball, once again this is not just an Iowa State issue.

The silence from Audi is deafening. Tired of this game being played. If she leaves I don’t care anymore. 90% of team gone and staff is hiding. This is now a s***show and I appreciate AJ and EP staying. If any commits stay we have 3 confirmed players. Any hope is gone and may need to forfeit season.

Has Audi stated that she will play for Iowa State no matter what? AJ has put her heart out there for all to read.
And if Audi stays she will too.....I just do not get the hate for a player who has not yet left. Maybe she will and you get your wish of AJ being the only Captain. I would love for both to stay and have 2, both 4 year loyal Cyclones.

All the talk of Money not being a factor by a few.

I would venture to say that without a doubt Addy, Jada, Beaty and Hare all get paid better where they end up than they did at Iowa State. Would not be suprised if Williams and Wilson do too.

Tanke and Jensen are probably the two who have moved on for playing time.

If Audi decides to go it most certainly is for more money.

Because it's not that hard to say what you are doing, either you WANT to stay or you WANT to go? If they want to play games then I personally prefer they just move on.
